Washington FB latest to reportedly transfer

Yep, it might be time to invest in a “Days Without a Transfer” ticker as, for what feels like the 1,478th time in the past couple of weeks, a player has decided to leave his current football home for what he hopes will be greener collegiate pastures.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser is reporting, by way of Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, that Washington fullback Kimo Makaula has decided to transfer out of the Huskies football program. Per the Star-Advertiser, Makaula will transfer to Div. 1-AA Idaho State.

As he’s reportedly transferring to a lower level, the redshirt sophomore would be eligible to play immediately.

UW has yet to confirm the move.

Makaula, who was a quarterback in high school, was a member of head coach Steve Sarkisian’s first UW recruiting class in 2009. He redshirted his true freshman season, then did not see the field in 2010.

The post-spring depth chart saw Makaula listed as the No. 3 fullback, which could’ve been at least one of the reasons behind his apparent decision.
