NFL suspended free agent LB Dylan Donahue 14 games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.
Donahue had two DUI arrests over the last year. The Jets released him at final cuts in September. This suspension puts Donahue’s career in doubt.

Jets selected West Georgia OLB Dylan Donahue with the No. 181 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Donahue (6’3/248) spent two years at Georgia State after transferring from JUCO, tallying 37.5 career tackles for loss and 25.5 sacks. He set the Gulf South single-season record with 13.5 sacks as a senior, earning Defensive Player of the Year in the D-2 conference. While Donahue’s monster small-school production jumps off the page, he is undersized by NFL edge-player standards and severely over-aged as a 25-year-old rookie. Still, Donahue’s relentlessness, burst off the snap, and bend around the edge give him some nickel-rusher potential.

Jets OLB Dylan Donahue also faces DUI charges in Montana stemming from a May 2017 arrest.
Donahue was busted nine days after he was picked in the fifth round of last year’s draft when he flipped his vehicle and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.137. Donahue, of course, was just arrested for his second DUI in less than a year last month when he drove the wrong way down the Lincoln Tunnel in NY/NJ and crashed head-on with a bus. He may not be long for the NFL.

Jets OLB Dylan Donahue checked into rehab last month following his DUI arrest.
Donahue was arrested in February for allegedly driving the wrong way on the Lincoln Tunnel. “Dylan recognizes the seriousness of these issues and has voluntarily taken some important initial steps to deal with them,” said his agent, Gary Uberstine. The West Georgia alum lost most of his rookie season to an elbow injury and could be looking at a lengthy suspension from the NFL following his second DUI in a span of 10 months.

Jets LB Dylan Donahue has pleaded guilty to a May 17 arrest for DUI in Billings, Montana.
The judge called for a three-month suspended sentence, meaning Donahue can avoid jail time if he pays a $1,000 fine and abstains from using drugs or alcohol during his three-month probationary period. Donahue, who spent a month in rehab for alcohol abuse this offseason, has now pled guilty to two DUI charges in a span of three days. Per ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini, a suspension “seems inevitable.” The second-year linebacker registered five tackles over 53 defensive snaps last season.

Jets LB Dylan Donahue pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated.
Donahue was arrested in February after he crashed his car into a bus while driving the wrong way down the Lincoln Tunnel. “Dylan accepts full responsibility for his actions and apologizes to his friends and family and fans,” his lawyer Terry Wood said. “Dylan has been sober since the incident and is still committed to living a sober life.” Donahue is facing at least a two-game suspension.
