Jets selected West Georgia OLB Dylan Donahue with the No. 181 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Donahue (6’3/248) spent two years at Georgia State after transferring from JUCO, tallying 37.5 career tackles for loss and 25.5 sacks. He set the Gulf South single-season record with 13.5 sacks as a senior, earning Defensive Player of the Year in the D-2 conference. While Donahue’s monster small-school production jumps off the page, he is undersized by NFL edge-player standards and severely over-aged as a 25-year-old rookie. Still, Donahue’s relentlessness, burst off the snap, and bend around the edge give him some nickel-rusher potential.
