Willy Adames homered, walked and scored twice versus the A’s on Thursday.

The homer was a solo shot, as 11 of his 14 have been this season. That and a .189 average with runners on help explain why he has just 32 RBI this season. He had 112 in his final year in Milwaukee and 87 while hitting 30 homers last year.

Blue Jays’ outfielder Jesús Sañchez sustained a right ankle sprain during Friday night’s battle against the Rangers.

Blue Jays’ skipper John Schneider told reporters after the game that X-rays returned negative for any fractures. It’s still unclear what grade ankle sprain Sañchez is dealing with, or how long he may be shelved for, so we’ll have to wait and see how he feels on Saturday.

Royce Lewis delivered a walk-off single in the 10th inning on Friday night, propelling the Twins to an improbable 9-8 victory over the Rockies.

The Twins led 7-0 heading to the eighth in this one, but the Rockies stormed back to take an 8-7 lead in the ninth. They evened it up with an RBI single by Byron Buxton in the ninth, then Lewis played the role of hero with his walk-off knock off of Jimmy Herget in the 10th. Lewis finished the evening 3-for-5 and is now hitting .217/.294/.377 with seven homers, 22 RBI and five stolen bases on the season.

Byron Buxton went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored as the Twins triumphed over the Rockies in 10 innings on Friday night.

Buxton smacked a one-out single in the first inning and rode home on a two-run blast by Kody Clemens. He then delivered an RBI double in the fifth that extended the Twins’ lead to 5-0 and scored on Josh Bell’s two-run double. He then came through with an RBI single in the ninth that tied it at 8-8 after the Rockies’ dramatic comeback in the top half of the frame. With his three-hit night, the 32-year-old outfielder is slashing .276/.331/.588 with 25 homers, 42 RBI and seven stolen bases on the season.

Taj Bradley pitched well during a tough luck no-decision against the Rockies on Thursday, piling up seven strikeouts over seven-plus innings of two-run baseball.

Bradley scattered just three hits and three walks on the evening. He shut the Rockies out through the first seven innings, then returned for the eighth where he allowed a pair of hits before turning the ball over to the bullpen — and both runners ultimately scored. The 25-year-old hurler got 14 swings and misses on 99 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 29 percent. He’ll see if he can replicate this strong effort and further improve upon his 3.98 ERA and 1.28 WHIP when he squares off against the Astros in Houston on Wednesday.

Hunter Goodman capped off a five-run uprising in the ninth inning with a go-ahead two-run homer on Friday, but it still wasn’t enough to lead the Rockies past the Twins.

The Rockies were held scoreless through the first seven innings on Friday and faced a 7-0 deficit heading to the eighth. They scored three runs in the eighth to pull a bit closer, then Goodman’s two-run shot capped off a five-run ninth that gave the Rockies an 8-7 advantage. Unfortunately, it would be short lived, and they would fall in 10. Goodman finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .240/.307/.510 with 22 homers and 42 RBI on the season.

For the season, the 28-year-old outfielder is now hitting an impressive .303/.343/.486 with six homers, 34 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 239 plate appearances.

Tomoyuki Sugano was lit up for seven runs on eight hits over five innings in a no-decision against the Twins on Friday evening in Minneapolis.

Sugano struck out two batters in the contest while allowing one base on balls. The Twins got to him early and often in this one as Kody Clemens blasted a two-run homer in the first inning and Brooks Lee clobbered a two-run shot in the second inning. Sugano then settled in until giving up an additional three runs in his final frame. He got just five swings and misses on 85 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll try to bounce back as he brings a 4.80 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and a 48/23 K/BB ratio (84 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Marlins.

Caleb Ferguson allowed one hit over one inning while striking out one to pick up his first save of the season on Friday against the Pirates.

With Emilio Pagán still working his way back, the Reds went to Ferguson to close out Friday’s win. The lefty retired Endy Rodríguez to start the frame, but then allowed a single to Konnor Griffin, giving Brandon Lowe a chance to be the hero for the Pirates. Ferguson, however, wasted little time with Lowe, taking advantage of the lefty-on-lefty matchup to retire him on three straight strikes and then forcing a lineout by Bryan Reynolds to end the game. This won’t be the new norm for Ferguson with Pagán on his way back, but he’s been reliable in nearly every outing he’s made for the Reds this season and proved he can come through in a big spot if needed.

Colin Rea allowed one earned run over five innings while striking out four, picking up a no-decision in Friday’s loss to the Brewers.

Going toe-to-toe with Jacob Misiorowski, Rea did everything he could to keep his team in contention. The righty escaped a bases-loaded jam in the first inning when he forced Andrew Vaughn to ground out to end the threat, and took a shutout into the sixth inning. After allowing the first two runners he faced to reach base in the sixth, Rea was relieved by Ethan Roberts, who forced a double play to immediately get two outs, but gave up a two-run homer to Garrett Mitchell on the following at-bat to put the Brewers up 2-1. Rea would get charged with one earned run on the night, with the loss being credited to Roberts. Rea’s next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Padres.

Seiya Suzuki went 1-for-2 with a homer and two RBI in Friday’s loss to the Brewers.

Suzuki broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning when he took Jacob Misiorowski deep for his 11th homer of the season. He was responsible for both runs the Cubs scored on the night, with his second RBI coming on a sacrifice fly that brought home Pete Crow-Armstrong in the eighth inning. Suzuki is slashing .300/.398/.543 this month and has seen nine of his 21 hits go for extra bases.
