Patrick Corbin allowed seven hits and five runs with one walk and five strikeouts across 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Rangers on Friday.

Corbin didn’t have it from the get-go. The Rangers jumped on him for three runs in the first inning and he had to dance out of trouble or else it would’ve been worse. It took him 34 pitches just to get through that frame and then Justin Foscue took him deep for a two-run shot in the third. He held on until the fifth, but was pulled before facing some of the Rangers’ righties for a third time. On the season, he has a 5.09 ERA and is scheduled to face the Mets at home next time out.

Blue Jays transferred LHP Patrick Corbin to the 60-day injured list.

It’s merely a procedural move to free up a spot on Toronto’s 40-man roster for newly acquired starter Matt Waldron. The 37-year-old lefty hit the injured list with a teres major strain last month and is probably done for the year given the nature of the injury.

Blue Jays placed LHP Patrick Corbin on the 15-day injured list with a left teres major strain.

It’s the first absence for the durable Corbin since the end of the 2022 season, when he was stashed on the IL to keep him from picking up his 20th loss. Corbin had posted an 8.18 ERA over 11 innings in four appearances since being sent to the bullpen at the beginning of the month.

Spencer Miles tossed three shutout innings with five strikeouts, one walk, and allowed one hit on his way to the win against the Mets on Wednesday.

Miles was very impressive here despite only going three innings on 46 pitches. Both his fastball and sinker sat between 97 and 98 mph and the latter flashed some impressive movement. His curveball flashed too and he was willing to throw it against hitters from both sides of the plate. There was enough here to make us think about adding him in very deep leagues. Otherwise, Patrick Corbin followed him as more of a bulk reliever going five innings, allowing three runs, and earning the save. With a 5.11 ERA, he should not be on our radar.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters Patrick Corbin has been moved to the bullpen.

Schneider told reporters it’ll likely be rookie Spencer Miles getting the ball for a bullpen game in place of Corbin, who was originally scheduled to start Wednesday’s series finale against the Mets. The 36-year-old veteran has pitched to a cromulent 5.09 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 52/24 K/BB ratio across 69 innings over 15 starts this season. His rotation spot will likely go to Max Scherzer (back) once he’s ready to come off the injured list in a few weeks.

Patrick Corbin allowed three runs and struck out four batters over 3 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday.

Corbin tossed a scoreless first inning, then allowed the first two batters to reach in the second for Matt Shaw, who took Corbin deep for a three-run blast to put the Cubs on the board. He labored through the next two innings and left the bases loaded with two outs in the fourth at 101 pitches, only 57 for strikes. He scattered six hits and three walks in all while striking out four. The 36-year-old left-hander will take a 4.73 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and a 47/23 K/BB ratio across 64 2/3 innings into a start against the Rangers in Toronto on Thursday.

Patrick Corbin received a no-decision on Sunday against the Yankees, allowing two earned run on seven hits over 3 2/3 innings.

Corbin struck out three and didn’t walk anyone. The Blue Jays have dealt with several pitching injuries this season, forcing them to rely on the veteran southpaw for innings. Max Scherzer recently returned from the IL, and Shane Bieber could be back shortly too, so it remains to be seen what happens with the rotation. Corbin’s next scheduled outing comes against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Patrick Corbin gave up five runs over three innings on Monday in a loss to the Phillies.

Corbin gave up four hits, including a two-run homer to Adolis García as he allowed four runs for the second consecutive start. The interesting wrinkle here is that Simeon Woods-Richardson tossed four scoreless innings out of the bullpen in his Toronto debut, which could set up a potential piggyback situation moving forward. Corbin is not a recommended fantasy option when he faces the Yankees on Sunday.

Patrick Corbin allowed six hits and four runs with one walk and two strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Braves on Wednesday.

Corbin was done in by a three-run home run from Mauricio Dubón in the third inning. His outing was fairly clean otherwise, but he still isn’t missing enough bats and allowing too much hard contact to genuinely be trusted. He currently has a 3.98 ERA with 37 strikeouts and 16 walks across 54 1/3 innings on the season as a remarkably important plug-and-play starter in the Blue Jays’ rotation. Next up is a horrifying two-start week against the Phillies and Yankees with both starts coming at home.

Patrick Corbin pitched well in a no-decision against the Orioles on Thursday evening, surrendering just one run on four hits over five innings.

Corbin struck out four batters on the night while issuing one free pass. He served up a solo homer to Coby Mayo in the fourth inning but was able to keep the Orioles’ offense at bay otherwise. Unfortunately, his offense couldn’t generate more than one run of support for him while he was in the game. Corbin got six whiffs on 80 pitches in the game, posting a CSW of 24 percent. Now 3-1 on the season, he’ll bring a respectable 3.65 ERA and 1.36 WHIP into Wednesday’s matchup against the Braves in Atlanta.

Patrick Corbin limited the Pirates to one run in six innings and fanned seven in Saturday’s win.

Just as everyone expected, Corbin had five more strikeouts and eight more whiffs (15-7) than Paul Skenes today. Corbin did give up 10 hard-hit balls, including the three hardest of the game, but all those hard-hit balls produced was four singles and a double. He also walked none. Corbin is 2-1 with a 3.89 ERA in his nine starts. His strikeout rate is just 17 percent overall and he’s also sporting a career-low groundball rate for the second straight season, so he’s still not worth much attention in fantasy circles. He’ll pitch in Baltimore next week.

White Sox recalled José Urquidy from Triple-A Charlotte.

Urquidy was lit up as a long reliever this year with the Pirates, but has a 3.48 ERA in 20 Triple-A starts between Indianapolis and Charlotte. It’s possible he gets another chance in the rotation (or as a bulk reliever) with the Sox losing Davis Martin to the injured list.

Assuming the game isn’t eaten up by the lockout, Bobby Witt Jr. will roam the cornfields of Iowa on August 12, 2027. The game, played in Iowa, was picked up by Netflix this year and has become an interesting showcase over the past few seasons.

After collecting five hits through eight, the Brewers came back to win the game with five singles in the ninth. The first four of those came against Edwin Díaz, while Bauers’ was off lefty Alex Vesia. It was Bauers’ only hit to go along with a walk on the night. He went on to steal second afterwards, making him 9-for-12 on the basepaths this year.

Drohan allowed one run on a leadoff walk and a single in the fifth and then was pulled with a 2-1 lead in the sixth after walking back-to-back batters with one out. Antonio Senzatela replaced him and, after getting Teoscar Hernández to ground out, gave up a three-run pinch-hit homer to Max Muncy to add two runs to Drohan’s total. Drohan will have an easier assignment at home next week against the Mariners, making him a decent option in mixed leagues.
