Seigler receives his third opportunity atop Boston’s lineup in his 11th consecutive start at the keystone since being brought up from Triple-A Worcester back on June 20. The versatile 27-year-old blasted his first career homer over the weekend and is hitting a blistering .361 (13-for-36) with one homer, three RBI and one steal through 12 games in the big leagues this season. There’s nothing in his minor-league track record to suggest he’ll blossom into a highly impactful fantasy contributor, but he’s making some noise and could be useful as a temporary stopgap in deeper leagues.

Anthony Seigler hit his first big-league homer and walked Saturday against the Yankees.

Seigler’s homer was hit 339 feet to the opposite field, sneaking just over the Green Monster. He’s started every game since being recalled last Saturday and he’s now 10-for-30 with four extra-base hits in his Red Sox career. He should remain a fixture until he cools off.

Red Sox recalled INF Anthony Seigler from Triple-A Worchester.

Seigler was batting .290/.409/.435 for Worcester and went 1-for-3 over two games in his first stint with the Red Sox earlier this month. He’ll help fill in for Isiah Kiner-Falefa, though he’s not an option at shortstop. He’ll likely play a little second and third.

Seigler is down after spending a few days with Boston, and it clears room for Garrett Whitlock (knee) on the active roster. Seigler likely will be back before the summer ends.

In the lineup for the first time since being recalled, Anthony Seigler is getting the nod at second base for the Red Sox on Saturday.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa seems to have cooled off, so he’s taking a seat after 10 straight starts. The switch-hitting Seigler was called up Wednesday after hitting .298/.425/.471 in 30 games for Triple-A Worcester. He appeared in one of his first three games on the roster, going 0-for-2.

Red Sox are promoting 2B/3B Anthony Seigler from Triple-A Worcester, according to Tommy Cassell, who covers the Triple-A team.

Seigler was the third person who came to the Red Sox in the Kyle Harrison trade, along with Caleb Durbin and Andruw Monasterio. Seigler is hitting .298 with three home runs and 21 RBI in 104 at-bats for Triple-A Worcester this season but hit .344 in May. He makes a ton of contact and has some experience as a catcher but has only played second and third base this season, so it remains to be seen what his role will be in Boston.

Red Sox activated INF Anthony Seigler from the 10-day injured list; optioned him to Triple-A Worcester.

Seigler, acquired in the offseason Caleb Durbin trade, will try to get on track in the minors after opening the season on IL with a knee issue that popped up during late March. Given Boston’s infield depth, he’s probably unlikely to play a major role this season without injuries in front of him.

There’s been little said about Seigler’s injury, though it apparently dates back to winter ball when he was still a member of the Brewers organization. The 26-year-old never figured to make the Red Sox after being acquired in the Caleb Durbin-Kyle Harrison swap, but the on-base ability is there to potentially make him a useful spare part off the bench.

Red Sox acquired INF/C Anthony Seigler, INF Caleb Durbin, INF Andruw Monasterio and a competitive balance round B selection from the Brewers for LHP Kyle Harrison, INF David Hamilton and LHP Shane Drohan.

Seigler, 26, broke through to the big leagues for the first time in 2025, hitting an underwhelming .194/.292/.210 with zero homers, five RBI and a 16/8 K/BB ratio across 73 plate appearances with the Brewers. During the 2025 campaign he saw action at third base, second base, first base and catcher — and can play the outfield in a pinch as well. He’s likely ticketed for a utility role at Triple-A Worcester to open the 2026 season.

Brewers optioned C/INF Anthony Seigler to Triple-A Nashville.

Seigler wound up batting .194/.292/.210 with one extra-base hit, five RBI and two steals in 73 plate appearances over 34 games after being called up early July. The 26-year-old rookie’s defensive versatility makes him an intriguing bench player, but there isn’t much room for him at the moment with the Brewers contending for a playoff spot.

Brewers selected the contract of C/INF Anthony Seigler from Triple-A Nashville.

The switch-hitting Seigler, 26, will be making his major league debut after hitting .277/.416/.465 with seven homers and 20 steals for Nashville. Since Caleb Durbin is hitting much better lately and William Contreras rarely comes out of the lineup, Seigler’s role figures to be fairly limited, at least initially. Still, he should contribute with his ability to get on base against righties. Worthy of note is that even though he is a switch-hitter, he ought to be treated as if he were a lefty; he’s hit far, far worse against lefties than righties in his career.
