Kyle Tucker is not in the lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Padres.

Tucker will get a day off against left-hander J.P. Sears, as will third baseman Max Muncy. Miguel Rojas is playing third base in Muncy’s absence, while Alex Call will handle right field with Tucker out.

Guardians optioned C/OF Cooper Ingle to Triple-A Columbus

Ingle went just 2-for-21 in his 24 plate appearances with the Guardians with a 12/3 K/BB ratio. He has had a solid year at Triple-A and could get another shot later in the season, but will most likely be playing for a starting job in 2027.

Twins recalled LHP Kendry Rojas from Triple-A St. Paul

With Connor Prielipp (blister) heading to the injured list, Rojas could serve as a bulk relief option with Mike Paredes during bullpen games. Rojas has a 1.65 ERA in 16 1/3 innings for the Twins this season and could be an intriguing option in 2027 if he gets a chance to be a full-time starter.

Twins recalled RHP Bailey Ober (elbow) from the 15-day injured list.

This had been reported earlier, and we thought that Mike Paredes would shift back into long relief, but now that Connor Preilipp (blister) is headed to the injured list, the Twins will have to keep a bullpen game going for a bit. Ober has a 4.59 ERA in 66 2/3 innings this season and should be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Twins placed LHP Connor Prielipp on the 15-day injured list with a blister.

Apparently, Prielipp had the blister in his previous start, but it ripped and began to bleed in the fourth inning on Thursday. That would explain why Prielipp, who had gotten nine of the first ten batters out, ran into big-time trouble in the fourth inning and allowed two home runs, which accounted for all of the runs he allowed. With the All-Star break coming, he may only miss one start, but the Twins could also be cautious with his innings totals and slow play his return a bit.

Red Sox recalled INF Brett Harris from Triple-A Worcester

Harris will start at first base against the White Sox on Thursday after Willson Contreras fouled a ball off of his foot on Wednesday and had to leave the game. There is no word yet on whether or not Contreras will need to go on the injured list, but, for one day at least, Harris will take his place at first base.

Red Sox placed LHP Ranger Suarez (left groin strain) on the 15-day injured list.

Suarez was hurt in his start on Sunday, and the Red Sox wanted to wait to see if he was healthy enough to pitch this week. Unfortunately, he will not make his start on Saturday and will also not be able to pitch in the All-Star Game. Perhaps his teammate Sonny Gray will be chosen to take his place. With the week off ahead of him, Suarez may not miss more than a start or two. Brayan Bello could be an option to start on Saturday.

Guardians pitching prospect Khal Stephen had surgery on Monday to repair his UCL.

The 23-year-old pitching prospect will be able to return in about 10-12 months since he did not have a full, traditional Tommy John surgery. Stephan had a 3.44 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 49/23 K/BB ratio across 55 innings for Double-A Akron this season. He should be able to make a few starts in Double-A in 2027 to finish the season.
