Tom Cosgrove retired all six batters he faced for a save in a 7-3 game Monday against the Rockies.
The Nationals’ lead swelled from three runs to four in the top of the ninth, so the club just left Cosgrove in to collect his second career save. The other came on Sept. 27, 2023, when he pitched the 10th inning for the Padres. Cosgrove, who spent the first three months of the year in Triple-A, has pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings since being acquired from the Astros earlier this month.
