Emilio Pagan picked up his 11th save with a scoreless ninth against the Guardians in the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader.

Barely. With two outs and a man on second, Petey Halpin hit one to the wall in right center. It looked like right fielder Noelvi Marte’s ball to attempt to catch, but center fielder Dane Myers came flying in at the last second and caught it while crashing into the wall (and, for the first time in his career, without suffering a scary injury in the process). Pagan moved to 5-for-5 in save chance since coming off the IL. He seems like a trade candidate, but he’d be more attractive if he didn’t have a $10 million player option for next season.

Pagán was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and managed to work around a one-out walk to Michael Busch to preserve the win. The 35-year-old veteran stopper has converted all 17 of his save opportunities since the All-Star break.

Emilio Pagán worked a scoreless ninth for his 23rd save Sunday against the Brewers.

Working with a one-run lead, Pagán gave up a leadoff single to Brice Turang, but he had no further issues afterwards. He’s now 16-for-16 saving games since the All-Star break. He’s also 3-0 during the span.

Emilio Pagán struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning to convert a save against the Brewers on Saturday.

Pagán was summoned in the top of the ninth to close out the game against the Brewers with a two-run lead. He struck out the first batter, then loaded the bases on a double, a walk, and a base hit. A pop-out held the runners before Pagán generated a flyout to end the game with his 21st save of the season.

For a second straight outing, Emilio Pagán gave up a solo homer before nailing down a save Tuesday against the Padres.

Pagán surrendered a homer to Pete Crow-Armstrong in a three-run game on Sunday. Tonight, it was Fernando Tatis Jr. going deep in a two-run game. It’s the seventh homer Pagán has allowed in 34 1/3 innings this season, but he’s 20-for-23 saving games. He’s 13-for-13 since coming off the injured list a couple of months ago.

Emilio Pagán survived a Pete Crow-Armstrong solo homer to record his 19th save Sunday night against the Cubs.

Pagán had a three-run lead to work with tonight. He did give up another long shot to Seiya Suzuki after PCA’s homer with two outs, but it was caught just in front of the ivy-covered wall at Wrigley. Pagan has a 2.33 ERA and is 12-for-12 saving games since coming off the injured list two months ago.

Emilio Pagán tossed a perfect ninth against the Cubs for his 18th save Friday.

Pagan struck out Ian Happ in between flyouts from Alex Bregman and Nico Hoerner. His velocity was also strong again for a second straight outing after a mysterious drop last week, so it looks like nothing further will come of that. He has seven saves and one win in nine appearances this month. Fortunately, his one bad outing while his velocity was down came with a three-run lead; he gave up two runs but got the save anyway.

Emilio Pagán struck out two in a scoreless ninth to earn the save in Wednesday’s 10-9 win over the Giants.

That makes 17 saves for Pagán this season. He missed time earlier in the year but regained Cincinnati’s locked-in closer role upon returning. He’s allowed just three earned runs in 15 innings since the All-Star break.

Emilio Pagán allowed two runs in the ninth on Wednesday versus the Cardinals, holding on for his 16th save to secure the 5-4 win.

Pagán allowed a two-run homer to Jordan Walker before ending the comeback attempt. It marked the first runs he’s given up since July 19 as the veteran reliever has performed admirably since returning from injury. The Reds’ offense could limit save chances down the stretch, but Pagán remains Terry Francona’s go-to option in the ninth.

Pagán needed 11 pitches to get through the frame, with his last out coming on a fly-out by Otto Lopez. Pagán has now converted on nine straight save opportunities and hasn’t blown a save since May 4th.

Cincinnati Enquirer’s Gordon Wittenmyer reports Emilio Pagán (hand) is available tonight.

So ends the two-hour rein of the closer-by-committee in Cincinnati. Pagán got his hand scanned and it apparently checked out okay. He’ll be back in the saddle tonight against the Marlins.

Rice has 39 homers, which is far and away a record for Yankees who qualify at catcher for fantasy purposes. Gary Sánchez, at 34, holds the actual single-season record for Yankees catchers. One more will give Rice the 36th 40-homer season in Yankees history.

An incredibly odd first from Rodriguez saw him give up five runs on three walks, two singles and a run-scoring wild pitch. That was the bulk of the damage, but he did allow two solo homers afterwards. The seven runs allowed matched his season high, and he topped his season high for earned runs by two. He’s lost three out of four starts to fall to 15-7 with a 2.89 ERA. He’ll likely pitch at Coors in his final start next week.

Zac Gallen’s second appearance since returning from the IL saw him allow two runs — one earned — in three innings in Friday’s 9-2 loss to the Yankees.

Gallen was just mopping up, but he did okay in that role, allowing only two hard-hit balls and striking out two. It was Gallen’s first ever relief appearance after 196 starts as a major leaguer. He might get a start next week if the D-backs fall out of the Wild Card race, a scenario which seems unfortunately likely at the moment.

He did so from the seventh spot in the order, a product of Torey Lovullo trying way too hard to make something happen. Carroll’s average has been in decline, but the homer tonight was his third in seven games, and he still has the second-best OPS among D-backs regulars. At least it didn’t make much of difference tonight; the team would have need him batting first, second and third in this one.

Connor Prielipp shut out the Angels for seven innings, striking out eight, in the Twins’ 3-0 victory Friday.

It’s his first scoreless start as a major leaguer, though he did pitch five scoreless innings behind an opener on Sept. 1. Prielipp has allowed five runs in 21 1/3 innings this month, dropping his ERA from 5.55 to 4.94. That’s still not great, but his 125/42 K/BB in 120 1/3 innings is encouraging. He’ll likely face the Rangers next Friday.
