Yankees acquire two prospects from Pirates

Skenes gave up four hits, walked one and struck out two. He improved to 10-11 with the win. Skenes bounced back nicely after allowing five runs against the Giants in his last start. He has a 3.83 ERA. Skenes is lined up to face the Cubs on the road next weekend.

He finished the day 2-for-3 and is now hitting .255/.351/.446 with 16 homers, 45 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 396 plate appearances on the season.

We thought it might be Shane Drohan looking at a move, but then Harrison was pulled in the fourth for a second straight start Sunday against the Reds. He has seen his ERA rise from 2.79 to 3.66 while giving up 15 runs over the last week. It seems like he might be droppable at this point.

Perdomo was hit by a Ketel Marte liner while running the bases today. If he needs to miss some time, the D-backs would likely play Ildemaro Vargas at short, though they could recall Jose Fernandez as another option.

Riley strolled to the dish against Phillies’ closer Jhoan Duran in the ninth inning with the go-ahead run standing on third base with only one out. He wasted no time, ripping a first-pitch splitter up the gap in right-center to plate the go-ahead run, which proved to be the difference. Riley finished the afternoon 1-for-4 and is now slashing .224/.294/.368 with 16 homers, 66 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season.

Iglesias came on after the Braves stormed back to take the lead in the top half of the ninth inning. He allowed a leadoff single to Bryson Stott who advanced to second on a ground out and to third on a passed ball with only one out, but the Phillies couldn’t cash him in. The 36-year-old stopper now holds a 2.72 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 55/16 K/BB ratio over 53 innings on the season while converting 31 of his 34 save chances.

Mahle walked one and struck out three in the ballgame. Poor defense in the opening inning put runners on second and third base with zero outs, and Mahle was able to escape with only those two runs scoring. He then blanked the Phillies the rest of the way, affording his offense the chance to come back. The 31-year-old righty generated 12 swings and misses on 94 offerings, registering a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he carries a 4.05 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 124/43 K/BB ratio (131 innings) into a rematch against the Phillies at home on Saturday.

Schwarber clobbered a 371-foot (107.0-mph EV) solo shot off of Dylan Dodd in the seventh inning that extended the Phillies’ lead to 4-1. That would be the extent of their scoring though and they would wind up falling just short. Schwarber also walked and scored on a sacrifice fly in the opening inning, finishing the afternoon 1-for-3. On the season, he’s slashing a robust .241/.357/.524 to go with his 42 long balls and 86 RBI.
