Emmet Sheehan pulled after allowing three homers

Let’s have some fun, folks. Davidson, who went undrafted back in 2023, will get his first taste of the majors during the final week of the season after blossoming into one of the most intriguing prospects in San Francisco’s system. The 24-year-old outfielder has been sizzling-hot on the doorstep of the majors for the last couple weeks and ascends to the big leagues after hitting .290/.361/.527 with 29 homers and 20 steals in 125 games in the upper minors this season. He’s the type of intriguing talent that is worth rostering in deeper fantasy leagues with only a handful of games left on the calendar. It wouldn’t be surprising if he made an impact down the home stretch given his fantasy-relevant skillset.

Mayer will make his San Francisco debut during Monday’s series opener against the Twins at Oracle Park. The 23-year-old former top prospect, who came over from the Red Sox in the Erik Miller swap at the trade deadline last month, has been out nursing forearm and foot injuries since late June. He’s talented enough to be an impactful fantasy contributor at some point in the future, but it simply hasn’t happened at this early juncture of his career. He could benefit exponentially from the change of scenery, but is unlikely to offer much in the final week of the regular season.

There’s technically a chance that Eldridge could return before the regular season concludes since the move is retroactive to September 18. That seems highly unlikely after he was placed in concussion protocol after hitting his head in an off-field accident at the team’s hotel last Friday. It would be surprising if he came back later this week. The 21-year-old top prospect turned in a phenomenal second half to hit .269/.364/.461 with 50 runs scored, 17 homers, 57 RBI and one steal in 448 plate appearances this season.

Lee’s season is officially over after hitting .276/.320/.404 with 65 runs scored, 10 homers, 57 RBI and 12 steals in 579 plate appearances. The 28-year-old outfielder offers a little bit of production across every category from a fantasy standpoint and is going to finish the year as a top-50 range option at the position. He’ll be a relatively low-upside roster filler in drafts next spring.

Abner loses his spot on San Francisco’s 40-man roster with outfield prospect Bo Davidson ascending to the majors. The 24-year-old lefty made five appearances for the Giants after being claimed off waivers from the Diamondbacks in mid-August.

Lorenzen figures to elect free agency and get a head start on the offseason after passing through waivers unclaimed. The well-traveled 34-year-old made six appearances for Toronto before being designated for assignment last week. He finishes the year with a calamitous 7.21 ERA across 127 1/3 innings between the Blue Jays and Rockies.

Pages returns to Los Angeles’ lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Padres following a one-month absence recovering from surgery to address a left hand fracture. The 25-year-old fantasy standout was hitting .272/.338/.458 with 72 runs scored, 21 homers, 80 RBI and 12 steals in 550 plate appearances prior to the injury. He’s clearly worth rolling out there in most fantasy leagues based on his raw talent alone, but the Dodgers are presumably going to manage his workload closely during the final week of the regular season since he skipped a minor league rehab assignment altogether.

Sasaki is expected to operate as a one-inning reliever during Tuesday’s series opener against the Padres. The 24-year-old former starter is ostensibly auditioning for a spot in the Dodgers’ bullpen for their upcoming playoff run during the final week of the season after missing a couple weeks with a blister issue. He can be safely dropped in nearly all redraft fantasy leagues.

Technically, Sheehan could be brought back later this week to take the ball against the Giants in place of an injured Blake Snell (groin), but that would require another player, not necessarily Snell himself, to go on the injured list. The 26-year-old righty struck out nine over 5 1/3 shutout frames against San Francisco on Sunday. He’s been temporarily demoted to get Roki Sasaki back on Los Angeles’ active roster.,

Alfonzo heads back to the minors with Andy Pages coming off the injured list for Tuesday’s series opener against the Padres. The 26-year-old backstop has hit .179 (5-for-28) with four RBI in limited action for the Dodgers over the last couple months.
