Christian Walker went 2-for-5 with a three-run, walk-off home run and two runs scored in a 10-7 win on Friday against the Mariners.

This was an unbelievable baseball game that the Astros were fortunate to win. They blew a three-run lead in the middle innings and fell behind by two runs in the top of the 10th. Then, Andrés Muñoz imploded and let them tie the game before Walker came up with two on in a tie game in the bottom of that inning. He promptly launched a three-run, walk-off shot deep into the Crawford Boxes to send them home winners. That was his 23rd home run of the season in what’s been a solid bounce back campaign for the veteran first baseman.

Christian Walker doubled in a run and singled Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

The two hits checked in at 109.2 and 108.3 mph. Walker hit sixth today after batting fifth the previous two days. He was batting cleanup previously, but the newly acquired Daulton Varsho has taken over that spot, at least against right-handers.

Christian Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo homer against the Angels on Tuesday.

Walker took Reid Detmers deep for a solo homer in the fourth inning, then added a base hit in the sixth. The home run was the 21st of the season for the 35-year-old first baseman. He’s slashing .235/.311/.455 with 52 runs scored and 62 RBI across 431 plate appearances.

Christian Walker is not in the Astros’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s tilt against the White Sox.

It looks to be just a routine day of rest for the 35-year-old slugger. LaMonte Wade Jr. will start in his place at first base and will bat fifth against White Sox’ right-hander Erick Fedde on Sunday afternoon at Rate Field in Chicago.

Christian Walker (hip) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Marlins.

Walker returns to first base and will hit sixth after coming off the bench during Monday’s series opener. The 35-year-old veteran slugger was held out of the lineup for two consecutive contests with right hip tightness. It doesn’t appear to be a significant concern moving forward.

Christian Walker grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning Monday and stayed in to play first base.

Walker missed a second straight start with hip tightness, but it looks like he’ll be good to go on Tuesday. LaMonte Wade Jr. went 0-for-2 with a walk before Walker replaced him at first base tonight.

LaMonte Wade Jr. gets the nod at first base with Walker sitting for the second straight contest due to right hip tightness. The fact that he’s managed to avoid the injured list is an encouraging development. He’s presumably day-to-day for now.

Jeremy Peña is feeling better after missing Sunday’s game with a hamstring cramp and hopes to be back in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Marlins.

Asked about Peña and Chrsitian Walker (hip) after the game, Astros manager Joe Espada said he is hopeful “one of the two can play tomorrow, hopefully both of them.”

Christian Walker (hip) was held out of the Astros’ starting lineup for Sunday’s tilt against the Orioles.

Walker made an early exit from Saturday’s game after sustaining the injury while swinging the bat. He was able to participate in drills on the field prior to Sunday’s game though and isn’t expected to require a trip to the injured list, so he’s considered day-to-day. LaMonte Wade Jr. will start in his place at first base and bat cleanup for the Astros on Sunday.

Christian Walker exited Saturday’s game against the Orioles with right hip soreness.

Walker appeared to grab his side while taking a swing against the Orioles, and it turns out the hip was the hailment. There’s a good chance he’ll be out of the lineup for the finale against Baltimore on Sunday, but there should be further updates on his status before that contest.

Christian Walker left Saturday’s game against the Orioles with an apparent injury.

Walker comes out shortly after Jeremy Peña with an apparent right leg injury against the O’s. Walker appeared to hurt himself on a swing attempt, and wasn’t able to continue after grabbing at his right side. There should be updates on both players shortly.

According to Alex Speier of the Boston Globe, Justin Slaten (elbow) is expected to land on the 15-day injured list on Sunday due to right elbow soreness.

With Garrett Whitlock also being shelved, the Red Sox’ bullpen has taken a major hit in the past couple of days. It’ll be interesting to see how the Red Sox reconfigure their bullpen to bridge the gap to Aroldis Chapman in the ninth inning.

Braves selected the contract of LHP Ray Kerr from Triple-A Gwinnett.

The 31-year-old southpaw has finally made it all the way back after undergoing surgery in June o 2024 to repair a torn UCL in his pitching elbow. He made nine appearances across four minor league levels, posting a 3.09 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 16/5 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings. He should provide a nice boost to the Braves’ bullpen.

Yusei Kikuchi (shoulder) was obliterated in a minor league rehab start at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday, giving up eight runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings.

The 35-year-old southpaw struck out eight batters in the contest while issuing a pair of walks. Seven of those eight runs came during the first inning, after which he settled in nicely. He threw 80 pitches (56 strikes) in the ballgame, so physically he’s probably ready to rejoin the Angels’ rotation over the weekend unless they want to see him have success in a minor league setting first.
