Jackson Merrill went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, a walk, an RBI, and a run scored as the Padres shut out the Pirates 3-0 on Wednesday.

Merrill doubled off Bubba Chandler in the bottom of the second before coming around to score on a Luis Rengifo RBI. He tripled in the fourth, driving in Manny Machado to give San Diego a 2-0 lead. Merrill’s season-long batting line is still below league average despite a recent hot streak. His 11 second-half homers are tied for the third-most in the majors. What has helped his fantasy line is an aggressive stolen base approach. He’s 24 for 27 on the bases after finishing 1 for 3 a season ago. There’s still plenty of talent to dream on in the 23-year-old.

Jackson Merrill went 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBI, and two runs scored in Friday’s loss to the Rays.

Merrill blasted a two-run homer in the sixth inning off Shane McClanahan to cut the Rays’ lead to 7-4. It was the 22nd homer of the season for Merrill, who also scored in the fifth inning on a fielder’s choice by Freddy Fermin. Merrill has hit safely in four of his last six games and is slashing .274/.327/.579 in August with seven homers.

Jackson Merrill homered and drove in two runs to help the Padres to a 6-5 win over the Twins on Saturday.

Merrill’s solo homer put the Padres on the board and gave the outfielder his 20th of the season. He also singled and walked, and that improves his slash to .241/.292/.412 on the season. He’s been considerably better than that mark over the last two months, however, as he’s forged an OPS above .800 in both July and August. It’d be nice to see more consistency after he looked like such a ‘sure thing’ after his rookie season, but even this version of Merrill has his place.

Jackson Merrill homered again Monday, delivering a two-run blast in the Padres’ 3-2 win over the Brewers.

Merrill’s homer off Logan Henderson was crushed 431 feet to center, giving the Padres the lead in the seventh. He also hit a ball 383 feet in his previous at-bat. Merrill has homered in three straight games and has nine homers in 22 games since July 19.

Jackson Merrill went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI against the Astros on Saturday.

Merrill’s home run was his 17th of the year. He hit a solo shot off Peter Lambert in the third inning. In the first inning, Merrill had an RBI force out. Merrill finished the month of June with a .213 average and eight home runs. Since July 1, he’s 41-for-132 (.310) with nine home runs, 27 RBI, 24 runs scored and four stolen bases in 34 games.

Jackson Merrill had the Padres’ lone RBI hit in the team’s 3-1 victory over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Merrill’s hit was just a little 76-mph grounder against a shifted infield, but it knocked in the first of three runs the Padres scored in the fourth. The others came on a groundout and a sac fly. Merrill made much better contact in his first at-bat, but his 395-foot barrel to center went for naught then. Merrill is batting .364/.370/.750 with five homers and nine RBI in 11 games during the second half.

Merrill’s home run was his 15th of the season. He hit a solo shot off Marlins reliever Lake Bachar to put the Padres up 4-3 in the eighth inning. Merrill’s home run was his third in his last five starts. While his .160 ISO this year is down from his career .188 ISO, he’s starting to make some strides in the power department lately. Merrill is hitting .231 with a .675 OPS and 46 RBI.

Jackson Merrill went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in a 7-2 win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Merrill doubled in the second inning, then led off the seventh with another double before scoring on a sacrifice fly. He added a single in the eighth for his third hit of the game and scored again on a single by Jase Bowen. The 23-year-old outfielder is hitting a disappointing .228/.282/.382 with 14 homers, 49 runs scored, 45 RBI, and 20 steals across 429 plate appearances.

Jackson Merrill is out of the Padres lineup Thursday despite homering for the fourth time in four games Wednesday.

It’s Chris Sale on the mound for the Braves, so even though Merrill usually plays against lefties, the Padres have apparently decided this is a good time for a day off. Jase Bowen is starting in center.

Merrill’s solo home run in the seventh inning got the Padres on the board and tied this game at one run apiece. It was a majestic blast too, traveling an estimated 449 feet with a 109 mph exit velocity and Merrill is suddenly red-hot. Over his last four games, he’s gone 8-for-14 with four home runs and could finally, at long last, be getting it together this season.

Jackson Merrill went 4-for-6 with two homers, four RBI and a steal versus the Royals on Sunday.

Merrill, who was 0-for-13 in his previous three games, had his first three hits through four innings and then added a two-run homer off utilityman Tyler Tolbert in the ninth in what ended up being a 19-2 game. It was a rather cheap way to achieve his first two-homer game in 372 days, but fantasy leaguers waiting for something from him all year will certainly take it. The steal was his 20th, which has helped keep him relevant.

Guardians’ manager Stephen Vogt confirmed Thursday that left-hander Logan Allen will start the first game of Friday’s doubleheader against the Tigers.

He’ll oppose Tigers’ right-hander Keider Montero in that one. That leaves Foster Griffin to take on Andrew Sears in the nightcap in Cleveland on Friday. Allen has pitched decently in his limited action with the big league club this season, posting a 3.77 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 15/4 K/BB ratio over 14 1/3 innings in six appearances (one start). He’s not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes.
