DeLauter showed that the hamstring he missed time with earlier this week can’t be bothering him too much with a pair of three-baggers to give him three triples on the campaign. He also singled and walked to push his rookie slash to .288/.363/.450. When he’s been healthy enough to play, DeLauter has looked the part. The question is if he can stay on the field long enough for that to matter, at least in terms of fantasy prospectus.

DeLauter is starting in right field and batting second against Rockies’ right-hander Tanner Gordon on Friday evening.

This one didn’t come easy for Cruz, who allowed two of the first three batters he faced to reach base and hit Travis Bazzana with a pitch to load the bases with two outs. Fortunately for Cruz, he was able to get pitch hitter Angel Genao to ground out to end the bases-loaded threat, but this could have easily turned into a disastrous appearance for the 27-year-old righty. Cruz is now a perfect 4-for-4 in save opportunities this month, but Friday marked his first save opportunity since August 17th. Unless he emerges as the clear-cut closer for the Royals, Cruz shouldn’t be counted on as a closer for fantasy purposes.
