Jake Bennett allowed just three hits over six innings as the Red Sox shut out the Yankees 6-0 in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
Bennett fanned seven and walked none in the gem. It’s his fourth scoreless start of at least six innings in his 16 turns for the Red Sox. He’s over his previous career high for innings and his velocity is down a little, but by limiting the walks and homers, he’s still more than holding his own. He’ll take a 9-6 record and a 3.27 ERA into his next start against the Orioles.
