Logan Gilbert took the loss on Sunday against the Blue Jays, allowing three earned runs on six hits and a walk over five innings pitched.
Gilbert struck out four in the defeat. The 29-year-old now has a 3.42 ERA on the season, right behind last year’s mark of 3.44 and in line with his career 3.54 entering Sunday. His strikeout rate has regressed to career norms following last season’s spike over 32 percent, but he still has one of the lowest WHIPs among qualified starters. We’ve yet to see a Cy Young ceiling, but he remains a dependable fantasy option. Up next is a home start against the Athletics.
