He’s having an exceptional rookie season, slashing .272/.373/.425 with 17 homers, 65 RBI, 12 stolen bases and an 89/88 K/BB ratio over 649 plate appearances.

The 24-year-old righty scattered just three hits and one walk in the impressive outing. The only blemish on his day came on a solo blast off the bat of Adael Amador in the top half of the first inning. After that, he was in complete command. Jobe generated 16 swings and misses on 87 pitches on the day, posting a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll look to replicate this effort when he brings a 3.89 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 34/13 K/BB ratio (34 2/3 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the White Sox in Chicago.

Amador got his club on the board first with a 394-foot (102.3-mph) solo shot off of Jackson Jobe in the top half of the first inning. That would be the extent of their offense. It was also Amador’s only hit in four at-bats. For the season, the 23-year-old is now slashing .326/.404/.652 with four homers and 12 RBI in his first 52 plate appearances with the Rockies.

The right-hander also issued two free passes on the afternoon while striking out a pair. The Tigers got to him for two runs in the opening frame on a two-run blast by Riley Greene. They then piled on with three more in the second to take a commanding early lead. Hughes got six swings and misses on 70 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 23 percent. Now 0-8 on the season, he’ll carry a miserable 6.37 ERA and 1.45 WHIP into Friday’s start against the Mariners.

Estes has been hammered for an 11.05 ERA and 1.91 WHIP over 7 1/3 frames in his two appearances with the Athletics this season. Drew Rom was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to take his place in the A’s bullpen on Sunday.

The 26-year-old southpaw has really struggled in 12 appearances at the MLB level this season, registering a 6.35 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and a 16/7 K/BB ratio over 11 1/3 innings of work. He’ll add a fresh arm to an overworked Athletics’ bullpen.

Seigler suffered the injury during Saturday’s ballgame against the Royals. Given that there are only two weeks left in the regular season, it’s unlikely that the 27-year-old infielder will be able to return before the postseason begins. Willson Contreras was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move on Sunday.
