Cubs’ manager Craig Counsell confirmed Thursday that Ben Brown (neck) will miss the remainder of the 2026 season.
The 26-year-old hurler threw in a complex game early last week and once again experienced renewed symptoms from the stress reaction in his neck. After consulting with doctors, the decision was made to shut him down for the season. If remains to be seen what type of surgical intervention, if any, will be required before he’s able to return to the mound in 2027.
