Phillips finishes the season with a solid 3.34 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 101/56 K/BB ratio over 126 2/3 innings of work in his 37 appearances (20 starts).

The 25-year-old isn’t expected to catch again this season, but he will be able to function as a bench bat for the Dodgers over the final weekend of the regular season and into the playoffs. Rushing has been shelved since September 5 due to discomfort in his throwing elbow.

The 24-year-old right-hander told reporters that his back is finally in a better spot after battling discomfort for the past month. He believes that he could be ready to return to the club’s bullpen for the NLDS.

Nothing has changed in the prognosis for Waldrep, who is set to undergo Tommy John surgery, this was done merely as a procedural move to free up a spot on the Braves’ 40-man roster for Elieser Hernandez on Thursday. Waldrep is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2027 season while recovering.
