Benjamin Snyder left his start Wednesday in the Hawaiian Winter League after taking a comebacker off his ankle.

Snyder was charged with six runs in two plus innings. The 22-year-old is 0-4 with a 9.39 ERA in Hawaii after spending the year dominating inferior competition in the Sally League. He finished 16-5 with a 2.09 ERA there. The Giants never gave him a promotion because developing a powerhouse team at Augusta was the priority.

Rockies placed OF Mickey Moniak on the 10-day injured list with a right ankle sprain.

Moniak apparently suffered the injury during a collision in the outfield while the team was in Pittsburgh and had been attempting to play through it. He’s not expected to need much longer than the minimum stint on the injured list. Sterlin Thompson was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque to take his place on the Rockies’ active roster.

Kodai Senga

NYM Starting Pitcher #34

Kodai Senga pitched decently in his first minor league rehab start at Low-A St. Lucie on Friday, giving up two runs on four hits across 3 1/3 innings of work.

The right-hander struck out two batters and walked one in the ballgame, throwing 36 of his 61 pitches for strikes. His fastball looked lively and topped out at 97.7 mph during the outing. He’s expected to require multiple rehab starts before he’s an option to rejoin the Mets in some capacity.

Shane Bieber

TOR Starting Pitcher #57

Shane Bieber (elbow) will make his first minor league rehab start for the Florida Complex League Blue Jays on Monday.

Bieber has been brought along cautiously after experiencing renewed elbow inflammation over the offseason. He’s going to need several minor league rehab starts before he’s ready to rejoin the Blue Jays’ rotation. If all goes well, expect him to debut before the end of June.

Alejandro Kirk

TOR Catcher #30

Alejandro Kirk (thumb) plans to join the Blue Jays in Toronto this weekend to ramp up his hitting progression.

Kirk has already been catching bullpens and live batting practice sessions regularly in Dunedin so it sounds like being cleared to hit live pitching will be his final hurdle before he’s cleared to begin a minor league rehab assignment. He’s still probably at least a couple of weeks away, but appears to be trending in the right direction.

Brandon Nimmo

TEX Right Fielder #24

Brandon Nimmo (hamstring) returned to the Rangers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s contest against the Angels.

Nimmo was pulled from Wednesday’s series finale against the Rockies due to tightness in his right hamstring. He had said all along that it was a precautionary measure and that he planned to play on Friday and that appears to be the case. He’s batting third against Angels’ right-hander Grayson Rodriguez on Friday evening in Los Angeles.

Heliot Ramos

SF Left Fielder #17

Heliot Ramos (quad) received a platelet-rich plasma injection on Friday and will be shut down from baseball activity for the next week.

The Giants are hopeful that the injection will take care of the quad strain that Ramos had been battling and that he’ll be able to start building back up after resting for a week. As of now there’s no clear timeline for a potential return to the Giants’ lineup.

Ty Blach

CHC Relief Pitcher #50

Cubs sent LHP Ty Blach outright to Triple-A Iowa.

Blach, 35, had been designated for assignment earlier in the week. He made just one appearance during his brief stay with the Cubs, hurling three scoreless innings of relief. He’ll bide his time at Triple-A Iowa until another opportunity arises at the big league level.

Austin Slater

NYM Right Fielder #40

Mets sent OF Austin Slater outright to Triple-A Syracuse.

The 33-year-old outfielder was designated for assignment on Tuesday but passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to serve as extra outfield depth for the Mets. He’s slashing a ghastly .209/.286/.233 with a 31 percent strikeout rate over 49 plate appearances between the Mets and Marlins this season.

Brenan Hanifee

DET Relief Pitcher #75

Tigers recalled RHP Brenan Hanifee from Triple-A Toledo.

With Burch Smith (shoulder) the latest Tigers’ hurler to hit the injured list, Hanifee will get another shot to work out of the club’s bullpen. The 27-year-old righty sports a terrific 1.93 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 5/1 K/BB ratio over 9 1/3 innings in seven appearances with the big league club this season.
