Jesus Guzman came off the bench to hit a grand slam off Edgmer Escalona and lead the Padres to a 10-6 win over the Rockies on Tuesday.
Everyone knows Guzman can hit lefties, and he more than held his own against righties as well last season. The door is again open for him to start for the Padres with Carlos Quentin down, though it’ll probably be just a temporary assignment. Until Guzman has a position to call his own, his fantasy value figures to be pretty limited.

Jose Altuve went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in the Astros’ 2-0 win over the Cubs on Sunday.
Altuve supplied the only runs of the game in Sunday’s pitchers duel between Jameson Taillon and Framber Valdez, taking Taillon deep for a two-run shot in the fifth inning. The 35-year-old second baseman is up to 13 homers while slashing .260/.319/.418 with 39 runs scored, 36 RBI, and six steals across 342 plate appearances.
Rays' Caminero emerging as fantasy star in 2025
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero is rising to stardom with 20 home runs this season, so it shouldn't be surprising to see him creep up into the first few rounds in next year's fantasy baseball drafts.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #71
Josh Hader struck out one batter in a clean ninth inning to record the save against the Cubs on Sunday.
Hader was summoned in the ninth to close out the game and complete the shutout of the Cubs with a two-run lead. He struck out one batter in a perfect inning to convert his 23rd save of the season to go with a 1.67 ERA over 37 2/3 innings.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #59
Framber Valdez tossed six shutout innings with six strikeouts in a win over the Cubs on Sunday.
Valdez was outstanding against the Cubs on Sunday, holding them scoreless over six frames. He started the seventh giving up a double and a base hit before he was relieved by Bryan Abreu, who left both runners stranded. Valdez scattered five hits and two walks, striking out six. The 31-year-old left-hander will take a 2.72 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 108/39 K/BB ratio across 109 innings into a start against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Saturday.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #50
Jameson Taillon allowed two runs with four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss against the Astros on Sunday.
Taillon had matched Framber Valdez with four shutout innings before Jose Altuve took him deep for a two-run homer in the fifth for the first runs of the game. That would end the day for Taillon at 107 pitches. He scattered five hits and one walk while striking out four. The 33-year-old right-hander will take a 4.44 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a 74/20 K/BB ratio across 95 1/3 innings into a start against the Cardinals in Chicago on Saturday.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #64
Dean Kremer shut out the Rays for seven innings, allowing just three hits, in the Orioles’ 5-1 win Sunday.
Kremer struck out six and walked one. It’s the third time in a row that he’s allowed one or no runs, with the first of those outings also coming against the Rays. We doubt he’ll offer lasting value in mixed leagues, but he’s certainly throwing well right now, with his ERA dropping from 5.50 in mid-May to 4.27 currently. He’ll make his next start in Atlanta against the Braves.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #74
After coming in with a 5-0 lead in the ninth, Félix Bautista gave up a solo homer and a walk before finishing off the Rays.
Brandon Lowe hit the homer. Bautista did strike out three in the inning. The run was the first he’s given up since May 30, and he’s struck out 17 in 10 innings this month.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #45
Taj Bradley followed up his gem against the Royals by giving up five runs and eight hits over 5 1/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Orioles.
Bradley struck out just two. It’s the fourth time in five starts that he’s allowed at least five runs, though in one of those, all five runs were unearned. Still, it’s been a lousy stretch, and Bradley, who is 5-6 with a 4.79 ERA overall, should again be in danger of losing his spot to Joe Boyle. If he stays in the rotation, he’ll face the Twins next weekend.
  • BAL Center Fielder #12
Ramón Laureano went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored Sunday against the Rays.
At .868, Laureano has now overtaken Ryan O’Hearn for the high OPS on the Orioles. The team made him a late signing in February with the idea that he’d be the fifth outfielder and play against lefties. However, he’s done all of his best work versus righties, hitting .305/.371/.610 with eight homers against them. He’s also played great defense in the outfield corners, and if the Orioles opt to sell, he’ll surely be of interest to several teams.
  • CIN Right Fielder #30
Will Benson went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and the walk-off RBI to lead the Reds to a 3-2 win over the Padres on Sunday.
Benson singled to lead off the sixth inning and scored on a base hit. He added a double in the eighth before stepping to the plate with the bases loaded in a tie game in the ninth. He delivered the walk-off hit off Robert Suarez to bring home the game-winning run. The 27-year-old outfielder is slashing .233/.299/.433 with six homers and 22 RBI across 137 plate appearances.
  • SD Shortstop #2
Xander Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with a solo homer against the Reds on Sunday.
Bogaerts put the first run of the game on the board with a solo homer off Nick Lodolo in the fourth inning. He added a pair of doubles on the day for three extra-base hits. The 32-year-old shortstop is batting .251/.327/.362 with five homers, 35 runs scored, 30 RBI, and 13 steals across 327 plate appearances.
