Twins recalled RHP Shairon Martis from Triple-A Rochester.
The 26-year-old hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since he was a member of the Nationals during the 2009 season. Working out of the bullpen for Triple-A Rochester, Martis compiled a 4.26 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 65/31 K/BB ratio in 80 1/3 innings. He’ll be used in middle relief.

Jose Fernandez went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run scored as the Diamondbacks triumphed over the Mets 7-1 on Thursday night.
Fernandez smacked a one-out double off of Nolan McLean in the second inning, but never advanced past second base. He then helped to spur a four-run rally in the seventh with a one-out single that chased McLean before scoring on an RBI ground out off the bat of Alek Thomas. He also drove in a run with a ground ball in the eighth inning. The 22-year-old infielder has impressed in his brief stay with the Diamondbacks, hitting .333 (8-for-24) with a pair of home runs, five RBI and a stolen base.
Roberts: ABS system keeps everyone accountable
Dodgers managers Dave Roberts joins the Dan Patrick Show to share what he does on off days before explaining why he liked both the ABS system and challenges, how he treats players of different talent levels and more.
  • AZ Left Fielder #1
Jorge Barrosa went 1-for-4 with an RBI triple as the Diamondbacks rallied to beat the Mets on Thursday evening in New York.
Barrosa capped off a four-run uprising in the seventh inning with an RBI triple off of Luke Weaver that plated Alek Thomas. The 25-year-old outfielder has struggled in his limited action at the plate this season, hitting just .217/.250/.478 with zero homers, three RBI and a 7/1 K/BB ratio in his first 25 plate appearances.
  • AZ Catcher #14
Gabriel Moreno made his presence felt off the bench on Thursday, going 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and two RBI in a victory over the Mets.
Moreno entered the game as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and got the Diamondbacks on the board with an RBI double off of Nolan McLean. He then added an insurance run with an RBI double off of Luis Garcia the following inning, increasing the Diamondbacks’ edge to 7-1. For the season, the 26-year-old backstop is hitting a solid .282/.341/.410 with five RBI, though he’s still looking for his first home run.
  • AZ Starting Pitcher #57
Eduardo Rodriguez delivered another strong start in a victory over the Mets on Thursday evening, allowing just one run on five hits over his six innings of work.
Rodriguez struck out three batters on the night while issuing two free passes. The lone tally against him came on a solo blast off the bat of Luis Robert Jr. in the second inning. The 33-year-old left-hander got 10 swings and misses on 102 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll carry a pristine 0.50 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and an 11/5 K/BB ratio (18 innings) into Tuesday’s showdown against the Orioles in Baltimore. He should at least be rostered in all mixed leagues at this point.
  • NYM Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. belted his second home run of the season on Thursday night, but it wasn’t enough to power the Mets to victory over the visiting Diamondbacks.
The dynamic 28-year-old outfielder tagged Diamondbacks’ southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez for a 412-foot (109.8 mph EV) solo shot in the second inning that gave the Mets an early 1-0 lead. That would be the extent of their offense in the ballgame though. Robert also drew a walk in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-3. He’s off to a nice start for his new club, slashing .333/.480/.487 with a pair of homers, seven RBI and two stolen bases.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #26
Nolan McLean pitched well in a losing effort against the Diamondbacks on Thursday night, surrendering two runs on three hits over 6 1/3 innings of work.
The 24-year-old right-hander racked up eight strikeouts on the night while walking a pair. He kept the Diamondbacks off the board for the first six innings, but he returned for the seventh and allowed a leadoff walk and a one-out single before turning the ball over to the bullpen. Luke Weaver came on and allowed both inherited runners — and a couple more runs — to score, which left McLean on the hook for a tough-luck loss. He got just six swings and misses on 100 pitches on the evening, posting a CSW of 32 percent. Now 1-1 on the season, he’ll carry a 2.70 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and a 20/6 K/BB ratio into Tuesday’s tough matchup against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
  • COL Shortstop #14
Ezequiel Tovar is not in the Rockies’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s showdown against the Padres.
It appears to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 24-year-old shortstop. Utilityman extraordinaire Willi Castro will cover the position in his stead and bat sixth for the Rockies against Randy Vasquez and the Padres.
  • AZ Relief Pitcher #00
Diamondbacks signed RHP Blake Cederlind to a minor league contract.
Cederlind, 30, hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since making five appearances for the Pirates during the 2020 campaign and hasn’t pitched professionally since 2023. It’ll be interesting to see what he has left in the tank, making him an interesting no-risk gamble as depth for the Diamondbacks.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #35
J.T. Ginn will start for the Athletics on Friday against the Mets in New York.
He’ll get the first crack at filling the vacancy in the A’s rotation with Luis Morales optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas earlier in the week. The 26-year-old hurler posted a 5.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 4/2 K/BB ratio over seven innings out of the A’s bullpen so far this season. Even though the start is away from Sutter Health Park, Ginn is not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes.
  • AZ Right Fielder #7
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters that Corbin Carroll was held out of the team’s starting lineup on Thursday due to a sore left hip flexor.
The dynamic 25-year-old outfielder felt a bit of soreness after his triple on Wednesday but was able to finish the game. The Diamondbacks don’t appear to be overly concerned, and it sounds like the plan is for Carroll to return to the lineup on Friday. Fantasy managers should be sure to check Friday’s lineup just to make sure though before setting lineups for the weekend.
