Yamamoto’s defense was less-than-spectacular, but the 27-year-old limited the damage thanks to the punchouts. He’s coming off a spectacular regular season on top of his postseason heroics, and he should be one of the very first starters off the board in all eligible drafts.

Daulton Varsho went 2-for-2 with a homer Saturday in the Jays’ 3-0 shutout of the Phillies.

Varsho was a big help in fantasy leagues in the final two months of last season, hitting .256 with 12 homers and 35 RBI in 47 games after returning from a hamstring strain. If he could keep that up, he might get a chance to hit third or fourth against righties, giving his value another boost. Alas, he was all the way down at seventh in the lineup today behind Addison Barger in the fifth spot and Kazuma Okamoto hitting sixth.

Adam Macko

TOR Pitcher #64

Adam Macko pitched hitless third and fourth inning against the Phillies on Saturday.

He averaged 95.0 mph with his fastball today, which is a nice bump from last year’s 93.0 average in Triple-A. Macko keeps missing time each year, slowing his development, and he wound up finishing last year in the pen in Triple-A. He doesn’t seem hopeless as a starter just yet, but this is his last option year and it’s not going to be easy for him to break into the Toronto rotation; a full-time move to the pen might come at some point.

Justin Crawford

PHI Center Fielder #91

Justin Crawford went 2-for-3 with a double as the Phillies’ leadoff man Saturday.

A groundball machine in the minors, Crawford opened up with an impressive double in a lefty-lefty matchup against Eric Lauer, lining a 390-foot double to left-center. He seems pretty well assured of being the Phillies’ center fielder against right-handers to begin the year, but handling lefties well this spring could earn him some extra at-bats beyond that.

Mitch Bratt

AZ Starting Pitcher #82

Mitch Bratt allowed three runs — two earned — in 1 1/3 innings Saturday against the Rockies in his Cactus League start.

Bratt, 22, wasn’t helped by his defense, but he struggled for the majority of the outing. The southpaw has a chance to be a contributor for the Diamondbacks before the end of of 2026, but the former Texas prospect has a long way to go before fantasy relevancy.

Tanner Gordon

COL Pitcher #29

Tanner Gordon allowed a hit and struck out three over scoreless inning in his Cactus League outing against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Gordon struck out Ildemaro Vargas, Pavin Smith and Luken Baker with a single by Tim Tawa sandwiched inbetween. He was atrocious in 2025 with a 6.33 ERA, but there’s at least a chance Gordon earns one of the final spots in the less-than-spectacular Colorado rotation.

Joe Ryan

MIN Starting Pitcher #41

Joe Ryan (back) is undergoing an MRI exam after being scratched from Saturday’s start against the Red Sox.

Ryan was officially scratched with tightness in his lower back, and Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports that Minnesota will provide an update on Ryan’s status Sunday. This all could be precautionary, but fantasy managers obviously need to play close attention to this situation.

Aaron Judge

NYY Outfield #99

Aaron Judge hit a pair of two-run homers Saturday as the Yankees crushed the Tigers 20-3.

Spencer Jones, Payton Henry, Roderick Arias, and Tyler Hardman also homered for the Yankees. Judge typically isn’t a big spring training guy — he had just one homer in 24 spring games the last two years — but he might have put some extra work in leading up to this one as he prepares for his first World Baseball Classic. His homers today were hit 420 and 395 feet.

Carlos Lagrange

NYY Starting Pitcher

Carlos Lagrange allowed two runs — one earned — over 2 2/3 innings Saturday against the Tigers.

He issued two walks, with both coming in his third inning of work. The 6-foot-7 Lagrange maxed out at 102.4 mph today. If he stays healthy and continues to gain ground in the control department, the sky is the limit for the 22-year-old. He probably won’t be a factor as a starting pitcher for the Yankees this season, but the team could throw him into the bullpen mix late in the year and see what happens.

Keider Montero

DET Pitcher #54

Keider Montero surrendered three runs in two innings Saturday in his start against the Yankees.

Montero’s velocity today was up 2-2.5 mph from last year, which seems notable. The 25-year-old has been a reasonable fifth starter when the Tigers have called on him the last two years, but he’s right around eighth on the rotation depth chart at this point, meaning he’ll probably be a middle reliever if he makes the team this spring. It seems more likely that he’ll open up in Triple-A.
