Padres sent LHP Jose Torres outright to Triple-A El Paso.
Torres was pushed off the Padres’ 40-man roster at the end of the regular season after completing a 100-game suspension stemming from charges of assault with a deadly weapon, intimidation, criminal damage, and possession of marijuana. It’s unclear at this point what the future holds for the 25-year-old left-handed reliever.

Cristian Javier had his rehab start for Triple-A Sugar Land rained out Sunday.
Javier was slated for his third rehab start after throwing three scoreless innings on Tuesday. There’s no minor league action on Monday, so Javier will either have to wait until Tuesday to pitch or get his work in on the side instead. The right-hander is in line to return from a shoulder strain at the end of the month or in the first week of July.
Contreras records first multi-HR game of season
Red hot at the plate over the weekend and on Sunday Night Baseball, Willson Contreras added to his hot streak with his second home run of the game against the Rangers.
  • TB Right Fielder #25
Victor Mesa Jr. went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in the Rays’ 8-3 win over the Angels on Sunday.
Junior Caminero homered to start the scoring in a five-run eighth, and Mesa went on to finish it, making it an 8-3 game with the second homer of the inning off Sam Bachman. Mesa is at .200/.319/.350 in 48 plate appearances since being called up on May 24. He’ll probably wind up back in Triple-A at some point,

Ian Seymour yielded two runs in 3 1/3 innings of bulk relief Sunday against the Angels.
Casey Legumina allowed one run in 1 2/3 innings an opener today. Seymour then entered and got through the fourth scoreless before giving up two runs in the fifth. Donovan Walton homered to start the scoring, and Seymour went on to walk two batters before allowing an RBI single with two outs. Seymour has a 4.93 ERA and a 41/19 K/BB in 38 1/3 innings this season. He’s in line to start or again pitch in a bulk role against the Nationals on Saturday, but it’s possible the Rays could try something different.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #40
Sam Bachman came into a 3-3 game in the eighth and gave up five runs in an inning to take a loss Sunday against the Rays.
Bachman has emerged as one of the Angels’ most trusted relievers and was working on a streak of 12 straight scoreless appearances before giving up his third and fourth homers of the season today. It seems like a setback for his chances of earning saves and probably gives Kirby Yates’ scant fantasy value a little boost.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #15
Ben Williamson clubbed his first homer as a Ray in Sunday’s win over the Angels.
Williamson hit a ball 394 feet off Drew Pometanz in the fourth for his second major league homer. He had one in 295 plate appearances with Seattle last season, and now he has one in 167 plate appearances this year. But while power obviously isn’t Williamson’s game, his OBP is a solid .331. His defense hasn’t graded out as highly as expected, but the Rays have had him start eight of their last 11 games: four at shortstop and four at second base.
  • LAA 2nd Baseman #18
Donovan Walton hit his first major league homer since 2024 against the Rays on Sunday.
Walton’s solo shot off Ian Seymour came in his 57th plate appearance for the Angels. Playing about half of the time against right-handers, he’s hit .296/.333/.426 since being called up on May 22. He now has five homers in 272 career plate appearance since debuting with the Mariners in 2019.
  • LAA Left Fielder #53
Wade Meckler left Sunday’s game against the Rays with a head injury.
Meckler’s exit was deemed “precautionary” after he hit his head while trying to track down a Ben Williamson homer The 26-year-old should be considered day-to-day with a decent chance to return early in the week for Los Angeles.
  • MIL 1st Baseman
The Brewers are promoting infield prospect Andrew Fischer to Double-A Biloxi according to Chase Ford of MiLB Central.
Fischer was the Brewers’ first-round pick out of Tennessee last year, and he’s hit .298 average with 20 homers in his time with High-A Wisconsin. The 22-year-old’s power is impressive, and while it’s most likely not going to be in the majors in 2026, it can’t be completely ruled out. He could be an impactful fantasy player by the end of 2027.
  • TEX Shortstop #5
Corey Seager is not in the lineup Sunday due to “mild” concussion symptoms.
Seager is out of the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Red Sox, and the symptoms come from a collision at home plate against the Royals on Thursday. The 32-year-old is considered day-to-day, but he’ll need to be clear of those symptoms before he gets back in the lineup.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #62
Logan Webb allowed only an unearned run over eight innings and struck out seven in the Giants’ 5-1 defeat of the Cubs on Sunday.
Webb is known for being a groundball pitcher, of course, but he got a bunch of lazy flies today in improving to 4-4 with a 3.46 ERA. It’s the second straight start in which he’s pitched eight innings and allowed one run, as he did so in a no-decision against the Nationals last week. He’s allowed a total of two earned runs in 27 1/3 innings over four starts since coming off the IL. Next up for him is start in Miami against the Marlins.
