Eibner has been torched for seven runs -- five earned -- over 3 1/3 relief innings this season. He cleared waivers earlier this month and figures to do so again.

Pederson left Wednesday’s game with hip discomfort, and he will not be in the lineup on Thursday. There’s no word yet on whether a trip to the injured list is a possibility.

Robert mentioned on Thursday that he’s been following the trainers’ plan and had “been able to do a little bit of everything, just slowly.” The centerfielder said that, if everything progresses well this week he thinks he’ll “be able to start running out on the field.” Obviously, if he begins running next week, he still has a ways to go to work up to swinging and facing live pitching and then a rehab assignment. It’s unlikely he comes back before August at the earliest.

This is Misner’s first start with the Royals after being called up on Wednesday. The 28-year-old hit .276/.360/.466 with 13 home runs, 51 RBIs, & 11 steals in 59 games for Triple-A Omaha. He could be an option in AL-Only Leagues while Kyle Isbel (plantar fasciitis) is out.

The Marlins have struggled to find a consistent first base option this year, but this could be a boost to their lineup if Stowers is able to stick there defensively. On Thursday, Esteury Ruiz will play left field and bat ninth, but this would also open up extra bats for Heriberto Hernandez.

It’s a pretty remarkable turnaround for Skubal, who had elbow surgery to remove a bone chip a little over five weeks ago. He looked good in his rehab start at High-A thjs week with velocities that were in line with what we saw from him during the year. He can be fired up with confidence this weekend.

García threw just eight of his 21 pitches for strikes, but he did earn one strikeout. The 35-year-old is continuing to work his way back from elbow surgery and will likely need another couple of appearances at Triple-A before he is ready to return.

Martin’s magic just will not run out. He washed away a poor outing last time out against the Twins by going toe-to-toe with Chris Sale and out-pitching him. Martin scattered just six hits, only one of which went for extra bases, and was in control throughout. It was beautiful to see practically everything working for him too. Four different pitches – his fastball, cutter, curveball, and slider – each forced at least three swings-and-misses. He also navigated around 11 hard-hit balls, but it’s just been one of those seasons. On the year so far, Martin has a 2.41 ERA, 79 strikeouts, and 17 walks across 78 1/3 innings. He’s scheduled to face the Yankees and Tigers in a two-start week coming up with both starts on the road.

After both Grant Taylor and Seranthony Domínguez were needed to preserve an extra innings victory yesterday, Hudson came on for the save here. Despite not having strikeout stuff, Hudson now has a 2.32 ERA on the season. Just don’t expect him to get the bulk of save chances moving forward.

It was always going to be difficult for Montgomery to follow up his magic debut from Tuesday where he hit a walk-off home run. He did a decent job though with two doubles – each hit at least 98 mph – and the first of which came off Chris Sale. He looks like an exciting young player who could hit his way into a big league role for the foreseeable future.

Mateo had both the only extra-base hit and scored the only run for the Braves in this one. He also had three hard-hit balls and should find himself back in a starting role with Ronald Acuña Jr. headed back to the injured list and Mauricio Dubón shifting to the outfield, as he did in this game.
