Mike Trout used his wheels to defeat the White Sox on Monday night, stealing third base and then scoring on a wild pitch to deliver the Angels a 2-1 walk-off victory.
The superstar center fielder had been 0-for-3 with three strikeouts on the night prior to the ninth inning, but he worked a leadoff walk from Aaron Bummer to get the party started. After Shohei Ohtani followed with a walk, the two executed a perfect double steal to get him to third with nobody out. After Brandon Drury went down on strikes, Trout dashed him on a wild pitch while Mike Moustakas was at the plate — giving the Angels the walk-off win. He’s now hitting .253/.363/.480 with 17 homers, 41 RBI and two stolen bases on the season.
