It’ll be fascinating to see if the Guardians can unlock his potential and turn him into a high-leverage weapon.

Perkins provides Cleveland with a reliable bench outfielder capable of handling all three spots defensively. The 29-year-old has had a rough season at the plate, hitting .157 across 101 plate appearances with the Brewers, but he makes sense on a playoff roster in a reserve role.

According to multiple reports, the Dodgers and Brewers are the overwhelming favorites to land Skubal considering their combination of big-league talent and loaded farm systems. It’s fair to wonder whether Seattle will wait until mid-August to promote Anderson since that would allow him to remain rookie-eligible for next season. There will be a rotation spot open one they move on from either Emerson Hancock or Luis Castillo ahead of next week’s trade deadline. There’s a chance that both of them are on the move. Anderson has checked every metaphorical box during his professional debut with a microscopic 1.20 ERA and 119/12 K/BB ratio across 82 1/3 innings over 16 starts for Double-A Arkansas. It would be stunning if Arraez, who will hit free agency in the offseason, wasn’t on the move prior to next week’s trade deadline. All nine Rotoworld staffers surveyed for our annual trade deadline preview column picked Arraez as the most likely player to be dealt. He’s showed some real improvement as a defender at second base in his Giants debut, while also hitting .328 with four homers and 10 steals in 459 plate appearances over 104 games. He was lifted from Friday’s game against the Pirates for precautionary reasons with leg cramps. It would be surprising if he didn’t end up somewhere in the AL East.

Chisholm received some extra time off to rest and recover after being removed from the 11th inning of Thursday’s series finale against the White Sox with bilateral cramping. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern. The 28-year-old power/speed combo infielder should return to New York’s lineup at some point this weekend.

Guerrero was back in Toronto’s lineup after missing one game due to right hamstring tightness. The 27-year-old slugger has experienced an unexplained power outage this season, hitting just six big flies through 104 contests. Amazingly, none of them have been hit at the Rogers Centre. It’s one of the strangest outlier campaigns from an established fantasy star that any of us have witnessed.
