Mookie Betts clubbed his 30th home run of the season on Sunday night as the Dodgers rolled past the Padres in San Diego.
Betts added to the Dodgers’ advantage, walloping a 395-foot solo shot off of Pedro Avila in the eighth inning to make it a 7-2 ballgame. He also reached on a fielder’s choice and rode home on Freddie Freeman’s three-run shot in the second inning, finishing the night 1-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. On the season, the 30-year-old superstar is now slashing .285/.386/.579 with 30 round-trippers and 71 RBI.
