CJ Abrams went 2-for-3 with a triple, three walks and two runs scored as the Nationals defeated the Dodgers 7-6 in 11 innings on Saturday.

The Dodgers failed to score in the top of the 11th, and the Nationals were able to win on a walkoff wild pitch in the bottom of the inning. Abrams, who had gone 221 career games without ever being intentionally walked, was gifted two such free passes tonight, including one in the 11th. Reaching base five times was a pretty good week for him earlier this season. That he did so in one game tonight upped his OBP from .297 to .303.

Munetaka Murakami had a three-run double and a walk Friday as the White Sox topped the Giants 9-4.

Murakami’s bases-loaded double to left was just his third extra-base hit that wasn’t a homer. He’s now tied for eighth in MLB with 36 RBI to go along with his 17 homers. He’s also fourth with his 40 walks, giving him a .387 OBP in spite of a .246 average.

Davis Martin earned his seventh win after allowing four runs in 5 2/3 innings Friday versus the Giants.

Although he gave up as many runs tonight as in his previous five starts combined, Martin struck out seven in maybe his easiest win to date, as the White Sox gave him nine runs to work with in the fourth. The team is now 9-1 when Martin starts and 17-23 the rest of the time. Martin will make his next start Wednesday at home against the Twins.

Trevor McDonald

SF Starting Pitcher #72

Trevor McDonald lost to the White Sox after giving up seven runs in 3 2/3 innings on Friday.

McDonald had his ERA down to 2.04 before giving up seven of the White Sox’s nine runs in the fourth inning took him all of the way up to 4.76. It was more about control than anything else; he hit two batters and walked another while giving up three runs in the frame. If he remains in the rotation, he’ll face the Rockies in Coors next time out. There’s some doubt about whether he’ll stick, as the Giants figure to active Logan Webb next week.

Hunter Goodman

COL Catcher #15

Hunter Goodman went 2-for-4 with a walk and two stolen bases Friday in the Rockies’ 3-2 win over the D-backs.

Goodman stole exactly one base in 2023, ’24, ’25 and in 46 games in ’26 coming into the game, so this is obviously his first career two-steal game. His singles tonight came on a grounder and a liner. He had a 101-mph fly that would have been a homer in 17 ballparks, according to Statcast, but it turned into an out at Chase Field.

Tomoyuki Sugano

COL Starting Pitcher #11

Tomoyuki Sugano pitched 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball Friday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks.

Sugano left down 2-1 before the Rockies came back to win the game 3-2. He has a 3.86 ERA after 10 starts, which could give him a little trade value in spite of his paltry 13 percent strikeout rate. He’s due to make his next start at home Wednesday versus the Dodgers.

Antonio Senzatela notched his fourth win by retiring all five D-backs he faced on Friday.

Senzatela came into a tie game in the eighth and recorded the win after the Rockies went ahead in the top of the ninth. With his 1.13 ERA, he’s a leading candidate for saves in the Colorado pen, but he’s also a leading candidate to be one of the first established major leaguers traded this season.

Michael Soroka

AZ Starting Pitcher #34

Michael Soroka pitched six innings of one-run ball in a no-decision Friday against the Rockies.

Soroka left with a one-run lead that got blown in the eighth, keeping him at 6-2 with a 3.27 ERA. He has another rather kind matchup coming up against the Giants in San Francisco on Wednesday.

Logan O’Hoppe is being checked for a concussion after a play at home plate in Friday’s game against the Rangers.

O’Hoppe was run into at home after having to go up the line to retrieve a throw. The Angels can ill afford to lose him again with Travis d’Arnaud also on the IL, but if it happens, Omar Martinez will be recalled to serve as Sebastian Rivero’s backup.

LAA Shortstop #9

Zach Neto hit his ninth and 10th homers Friday as the Angels topped the Rangers 9-6.

Neto homered off Jacob deGrom to open the bottom of the first and later added a 427-footer off Chris Martin in the eighth. He’s on pace for 31 homers and 106 RBI now that he’s returned to the leadoff spot after a brief, ill-planned hiatus in Anaheim.
