Mitch Haniger went 2-for-3 with a homer, double and two RBI on Sunday night, propelling the Giants to a 6-3 victory over the visiting Rockies.
Haniger doubled in the second inning, then came around to score on an RBI single off the bat of Luis Matos. The 32-year-old outfielder then tagged Rockies’ starter Peter Lambert for a 387-foot go-ahead two-run homer in the third inning, giving the Giants a 5-3 lead they would never relinquish. He also walked in the ballgame, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances. With his two-hit effort, Haniger is now hitting .224/.277/.402 with six homers and 25 RBI through his first 49 games on the season.
