Elehuris Montero had a terrific night at the dish in Thursday’s victory over the Dodgers, going 3-for-4 with a homer, double, two RBI and four runs scored.
Montero led off the second inning with a double off of Ryan Yarbrough and came around to score on an RBI double off the bat of Brenton Doyle. He then tagged Yarbrough for a 429-foot two-run blast in the third inning that extended the Rockies’ lead to 6-3. He also led off the seventh inning with a single and scored on an RBI single by Austin Wynns, then walked and scored on a run-scoring knock by Alan Trejo in the eighth. With his three-hit attack, Montero is now hitting .247/.294/.417 with nine homers and 37 RBI on the year.
