Mitch Garver, who suffered bruised ribs when he was hit by a pitch in Game 7 against the Astros, is in the lineup as a DH for Game 1 of the World Series.
The Rangers are going with the same lineup they’ve typically used against righties of late: 2B Marcus Semien, SS Corey Seager, LF Evan Carter, RF Adolis García, DH Garver, C Jonah Heim, 1B Nathaniel Lowe, 3B Josh Jung and CF Leody Taveras. It will be interesting to see if manager Bruce Bochy eventually elects to break up Seager and Carter at the top of the order. The Astros didn’t have any lefty relievers, so it was fine against Houston. The Diamondbacks, though, will surely go after the duo with the three southpaws in their pen.
