  • PHI Right Fielder #7
Phillies signed OF Jordan Luplow to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 30-year-old lefty-masher was cut loose by the Braves on Thursday, but it didn’t take him long to find a new gig. He’ll add outfield depth for the Phillies and will compete for a spot on the club’s Opening Day bench. Either way, don’t expect him to see enough playing time to gain relevancy for fantasy purposes.
  • LAA Third Baseman #22
Miguel Sanó will have his rehab program stalled after burning his left knee with a heating pad.
Well, that’s a new one. Sanó has been on the shelf since the start of May with inflammation in his knee, and the 31-year-old left the pad on a bit too long. It’s only expected to keep Sanó out the next couple days, and it’s a nice reminder that you can burn yourself with a heating pad.
  • PIT Catcher #14
Joey Bart left Sunday’s game against Atlanta with a left thumb injury.
The Pirates announced that Bart is undergoing further medical evaluation. The team will announce further updates when available. Bart has performed well this year, and this would be a significant loss for the Pittsburgh lineup.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #32
Twins sent RHP Jay Jackson outright to Triple-A St. Paul.
Jackson was designated for assignment Sunday, and while he could have elected free agency, the right-hander decided to stay in the Minnesota organization and report to Triple-A.
  • ATL Right Fielder #13
Ronald Acuña Jr. left Sunday’s game against the Pirates with left knee soreness.
Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution notes that this is just the initial diagnosis for Acuña Jr., and that he’ll need to undergo further testing. The results of imaging will determine the severity, but it seems very likely that a trip to the injured list is coming for the 26-year-old. Fantasy managers should be be prepared to get him out of their lineup for the week.
  • NYY Third Baseman #19
Jon Berti has been diagnosed with a high-grade calf strain.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that the infielder is going to be out for a while with no timetable for his return. Berti was placed on the injured list Saturday, and it does not appear this will be a short-term injury for the 34-year-old infielder.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #67
White Sox claimed LHP Sammy Peralta off waivers from the Mariners.
Peralta was waived by the Mariners to make room on the 40-man roster for Eduardo Salazar after Salazar was picked off waivers by Seattle from the Dodgers. Peralta will report to Triple-A and provide organizational depth for the rebuilding White Sox.
  • ATL Right Fielder #13
Ronald Acuña Jr. left Sunday’s game against the Pirates with a lower-body injury.
Acuña Jr. had to be helped off the field after he planted his left leg in an attempt to get back to second base. It’s worth noting that this appeared to be a knee issue, and that’s the same knee that had to be surgically repaired after a torn ACL. The outfielder appeared to be in serious pain before exiting. Acuña Jr. will assuredly undergo testing, and his status should be updated before the end of Sunday’s game.
  • ARI Relief Pitcher #48
Diamondbacks recalled LHP Blake Walston from Triple-A Reno.
Walston is up to make the start Sunday against the Marlins. He allowed two runs over 3 2/3 innings of work in his previous appearance in the majors earlier this season. Walston has some long-term potential as a 22-year-old former first-round pick, but there’s more risk than reward in his current profile.
  • KC Right Fielder #28
Kyle Isbel (face) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Rays.
Isbel fouled a ball off his face in the seventh inning and was removed from the game Saturday against Tampa Bay. He’ll miss at least one full game while recovering, and Garrett Hampson is starting in center field. For now, Isbel is listed as day-to-day.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports that MLB teams are planning for right-handed hurler Roki Sasaki to be posted in the offseason.
Sasaki is one of the best pitchers on the planet, and the 22-year-old has registered a 1.78 ERA over 91 innings of work with the Chiba Lotte Marines of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball in 2024. The right-hander will be one of the most sought after players on the market, and assuming he does get posted this winter, he’ll be someone who becomes fantasy relevant immediately in 2025.
