Phillies acquired RHP Zac Houston from the Rays for cash considerations.

Houston is merely extra organizational depth for the Phillies as he’ll get more of an opportunity in their system than he would’ve with Triple-A Durham’s crowded staff in Tampa Bay’s system. The 29-year-old righty posted a serviceable 4.43 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 73/28 K/BB ratio across 42 2/3 innings (37 appearances) this past season in the upper levels of the Yankees’ minor league system.

The 23-year-old is off to a strong start, going 8-for-24 (.333) with two home runs, four RBI, and four steals in six games. He also has an impressive six walks to just two strikeouts. With Brooks Baldwin (elbow) on the injured list, the White Sox have a hole in the outfield, and Antonacci has played five games in left field to begin this season. He could be an intruiging name in deeper fantasy formats if he gets a call-up.

Guardians 2B prospect Travis Bazzana went 2-for-6 with a game-winning hit in the bottom of the ninth for Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

The 23-year-old is only 5-for-24 in his first six games of the season, but he has five walks, a .720 OPS, and had three hard-hit balls in this game. With Konnor Griffin now being called up to the big leagues, Bazzana could be the next big-name prospect knocking on the door if he can start converting these hard-hit balls into more hits.

Griffin Conine

MIA Left Fielder #18

Griffin Conine is starting in left field and batting eighth against the Yankees on Friday.

Conine missed Wednesday’s game because he wasn’t feeling well, but he’s back out there on Friday. The 28-year-old has gone 4-for-10 with a double, a home run, two RBI, a steal, and a 2/1 K/BB ratio in five games so far this season. He could cement himself as the regular left fielder if he keeps the production up.

Evan Carter

Evan Carter is starting in center field and batting eighth against the Reds on Friday.

Carter sat against a left-hander on Wednesday, but the Reds will start all right-handed pitchers this weekend, which is good news for Carter, Josh Smith, and Joc Pederson. They can all be started in leagues where you can make mid-week lineupm changes.

Giancarlo Stanton

Giancarlo Stanton is starting at designated hitter and batting fifth against the Marlins on Friday.

Stanton had a routine day off on Wednesday. The 36-year-old will frequently get day games off to rest his ailing body, but he has been hot at the plate this season, going 10-for-20 with one home run and four RBI. It wouldn’t surprise us if he sits out Sunday’s day game, but he should be fired up in all lineups.

Miguel Andújar is starting at designated hitter and batting fifth against the Red Sox on Friday.

Andújar had the day off on Wednesday and has been alternating games a bit with Nick Castellanos to start the season. Andújar has gone 2-for-12 to start the season, which is exactly the same as Castellanos. For now, nobody is running away with the job.

This is now Peters’ sixth straight start. He has switched between right field and center field, but has been a constant in the White Sox lineup. He’s 5-for-15 with one run scored, one steal, and a 6/2 K/BB ratio in those six starts. That’s not much value to bring to your fantasy team unless you’re in a deep, AL-only league.

Red Sox recalled RHP Zack Kelly from Triple-A Worcester.

With Garrett Whitlock headed to the paternity list, Zack Kelly will come up to take his place. Kelly had a 4.58 ERA in 35 1/3 innings for the Red Sox last year and could only be up for the weekend.
