Astros selected the contract of RHP Spencer Arrighetti from Triple-A Sugar Land.
The 24-year-old top prospect will make his major league debut on Wednesday night against the Royals. Arrighetti made two starts at Triple-A Sugar Land prior to his promotion — posting a 2.16 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and a 10/7 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings. There’s strikeout upside to be had here as a streaming option, but don’t expect Arrighetti to work very deeply into his first start and his erratic control could lead to some damage in the WHIP department.
