Pallante struck out five while allowing seven hits, two walks and struck out five. The right-hander gave up a run on the third on a double by Kyle Seager, and two more runs in the fourth. It’s worth pointing out that the Cardinals acquired Erick Fedde on Monday, so this very well could have been his last start for the 2024 season. There won’t be a ton of fantasy value outside of facing the weaker lineups as a streamer even if he sticks as a starter.

Sugano was sharp early on, scattering three hits and a walk over four scoreless innings. The Angels would finally bring two runs in to score in the fifth on a walk and two doubles. Sugano’s day would be done after five at 96 pitches. He struck out five. The 36-year-old right-hander has been relatively solid for the Rockies, posting a 3.98 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a 36/18 K/BB ratio across 63 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Cubs in Colorado next Tuesday.

Rodriguez tossed a clean first inning, then ran into some trouble in the second. Hunter Goodman took him deep for a leadoff homer. The Rockies brought two more runs home on two hits and two walks before Rodriguez could escape the inning. After a scoreless third inning, the Rockies got to Rodriguez again for five more runs in the fourth, including three on a home run by Willi Castro. His day would be done with two outs in the inning at 91 pitches. He struck out three. The 26-year-old left-hander will carry a 10.00 ERA, 1.94 WHIP, and a 17/11 K/BB ratio across 18 innings into a start against the Astros in Anaheim on Monday.

Pereda knocked a base hit in the fourth inning, then padded the Mariners’ lead with a three-run blast off Jonah Tong in the fifth. It was Pereda’s second home run in 12 games while hitting .263 with the Mariners as he helps fill in for the injured Cal Raleigh (oblique), splitting time behind the dish with Mitch Garver.

Rodríguez brought a run in to score on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning, then took Cionel Pérez deep for a solo homer to lead off the sixth. He’s coming off a strong May, hitting 274 with ten homers. The home run on Tuesday was his fifth in nine games. The 25-year-old star outfielder is up to 13 this season while slashing .259/.313/.466 with 33 runs scored, 32 RBI, and five steals across 272 plate appearances.

Benge put the Mets on the board with a two-run homer off Logan Gilbert in the third inning. He did it again in the sixth, taking Gilbert deep for a second time with a leadoff blast, driving in all three runs for the Mets. Benge later drew a walk in the eighth. It was the first career multi-homer game for the 23-year-old outfielder. He’s homered three times in the last three games and is up to six with nine steals while slashing .254/.320/.385 across 225 plate appearances.

Gilbert retired the first seven hitters before A.J. Ewing reached with a double in the third inning. Carson Benge followed with a two-run homer to put the Mets on the board. Gilbert tossed two more scoreless frames, then surrendered another homer to Benge, a solo shot in the sixth. He couldn’t get through a full six innings, leaving with one out and two runners on at 99 pitches. He generated an impressive 21 whiffs to strike out eight batters. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 3.79 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 77/17 K/BB ratio across 73 2/3 innings into a start against the Orioles in Baltimore next Monday.

Huascar Brozobán opened the game with a scoreless first inning, then gave up a two-run homer to Patrick Widsom in the second. Brozobán would hand it over to Tong with two outs and one runner on. Tong would get out of the inning with a strikeout. Seattle would bring an unearned run in to score on two errors in the third. Tong then loaded the bases in the fourth inning and gave up one run on a sacrifice fly. Things fell apart in the fifth, with Jhonny Pereda taking him deep for a three-run blast. Tong’s day would be done after the fifth. He stuck out four. The 22-year-old right-hander had come into Tuesday’s action with 6 2/3 scoreless innings in two long relief outings. This spot in the rotation is due up against the Cardinals in New York next Tuesday, but Kodai Senga should be ready to return following his final rehab start on Wednesday.

11 1/2 months after being traded for him, Harrison fanned Rafael Devers three times tonight. He got 19 whiffs and allowed just two hard-hit balls, with the damage coming on Willy Adames’s 368-foot homer. Harrison is one inning shy of qualifying for the ERA title or he’d be second at 1.57, behind only Cristopher Sánchez at 1.47. He’s due to make his next start Sunday against the Rockies at Coors.

Trevor Megill was once again going to close for the Brewers tonight, but his save chance went away when the offense scored four times in the bottom of the eighth. Megill did finish it off anyway, pitching a hitless ninth. Megill is definitely back in the driver’s seat for saves in Milwaukee. Uribe would still seem to have some value in most leagues, but those secure when it comes to saves could consider dropping him.

McDonald has lost three in a row after going 2-0 in three starts to begin his career. Those who grabbed him for a two-start week will have to hope he fares better Sunday against the Cubs.
