  • CIN Left Fielder #7
Spencer Steer blasted two homers and tallied five RBI on Monday, powering the Reds to a 6-1 victory over the Cardinals.
Steer put Cincinnati ahead with a two-run homer off Sonny Gray in the third inning before taking hiom deep for a three-run blast -- his 18th round-tripper of the season -- to record his first career multi-homer performance. He also chipped in a stolen base -- his 19th theft of the year -- just for good measure. The versatile 26-year-old has blossomed into one of the better five-category contributors in the fantasy landscape, batting .237 (101-for-427) with 60 runs scored, 18 homers, 74 RBI and 19 stolen bases through 116 games.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #17
José Berríos allowed one run with four strikeouts over seven innings in a win over the Cardinals on Saturday.
Berríos was outstanding against the Cardinals, holding them to one run over seven frames. The only run allowed came on a solo homer by Jordan Walker in the third inning. Berríos allowed only one other hit and walked two batters while striking out four. The 30-year-old right-hander has posted a 3.44 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 143/50 K/BB ratio across 183 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Rays in Tampa Bay on Friday.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #44
Kyle Gibson allowed five runs -- one earned -- with one strikeout over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Gibson retired the first seven batters until Davis Schneider took him deep for a solo homer in the third inning. He later loaded the bases with one out in the sixth before a throwing error brought a run in. Gibson would depart with the bases loaded and all three inherited runners would come in to score. The 36-year-old right-hander will take a 4.11 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and a 144/62 K/BB ratio across 159 2/3 innings into a start against the Pirates in St. Louis on Thursday.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #35
Justin Steele threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Saturday
The first 25 pitches were solo action, and then hitters stood in for the final 15 offerings. Steele told reporters it was a “good day,” and that’s always nice to hear. The left-hander is working his way back from tendinitis in his pitching elbow, and it remains to be seen if he can return before the end of the 2024 campaign.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #19
Diamondbacks placed RHP Ryne Nelson on the 15-day injured list with shoulder inflammation.
Nelson must have picked up the injury Sunday or at some point during his work before his scheduled start over the weekend. The 26-year-old will likely miss the rest of the regular season and the D-Backs will hope he can help them out if/when the team qualifies for the postseason.
  • COL Shortstop #7
Brendan Rodgers has been scratched from the lineup Saturday against the Cubs.
Rodgers was slated to hit fifth and play second base against the Cubs, but instead it will Aaron Schunk at the keystone and hitting ninth. There should be an update on why Rodgers is absent shortly.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #31
Tyler Glasnow has been diagnosed with an elbow sprain and is likely out for the rest of 2024.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts made the announcement before Saturday’s game against Atlanta. There was hope after the initial scans Friday that Glasnow had avoided a season-ender, but now Roberts believes it’s very likely he’s out for the rest of the campaign. If so, he ends the year with a 3.49 ERA and 168 strikeouts over 134 1/3 innings.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #22
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Saturday that he doesn’t believe Clayton Kershaw (toe) will return before the end of the season.
Roberts said he “doesn’t see how it’s on the table” for the Kershaw to return before the end of the regular campaign, but he was hopeful that the 36-year-old could return for the postseason. The future Hall of Famer might be able to help the Dodgers try and win a championship, but he can be safely discarded in redraft leagues.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #71
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters that Jacob Webb (elbow) could return Sunday.
Webb was expected to return earlier in the month, but the Orioles have taken precaution with the 31-year-old in his rehab assignment. Webb will give the Orioles some added depth to the bullpen as they try and secure either the top Wild Card spot or the AL East.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
Carlos Correa is hitting sixth and playing shortstop Saturday against the Reds.
Correa will be playing for the first time in over two months while dealing with plantar fasciitis. The 29-year-old will likely move up in the lineup in the coming days, but for now will (potentially) have the chance to drive in players like Trevor Larnach and Byron Buxton.
  • LAD First Baseman #5
Freddie Freeman is hitting cleanup and playing first base Saturday against Atlanta.
Against his former team, Freeman will hit cleanup for the first time in his lustrous MLB career. Teoscar Hernandez will hit third against Chris Sale and the Atlanta staff.
