While the severity of Heller’s injury is unclear, it’s not exactly a good sign that he was placed on the 15-day injured list rather than the 10-day injured list. The 33-year-old right-hander had an 11.25 ERA in 12 innings for the Pirates this year.

Rodriguez gave up three hits, walked two and struck out six. He improved to 15-5 with the win. Rodriguez has won seven of his last nine starts. He has a 2.55 ERA. Rodriguez is lined up to face the Rangers at home next weekend.

Alfonzo went 5-for-27 in 12 games with the Dodgers earlier this season. He’ll function as the team’s third catcher behind Will Smith and Hunter Feduccia.

Burger’s first two-homer game since mid-April was a big one, as he took Ian Seymour deep in both the second and fourth innings. He also came around after the walk, making this the first time this year that he’s scored three runs. He’s at .239/.305/.433 with 25 homers and 82 RBI as he tries to help the Rangers win the AL West and works to ensure that the team will want to bring him back for 2027. It’ll probably cost around $6 million to retain him in arbitration.

If Gore was going to stumble his way home again this year, it sure would have been nice if he had been better early on. With his velocity down about one mph, Gore has a 7.50 ERA and a 9/11 K/BB over 12 innings in his last three starts. There’s always the chance he’ll get it back, but as things stand now, he seems like a poor bet for the remainder of the season. He’s schedule to make his next start Saturday against the D-backs.
