Forrest Wall belted his second home run of spring action as the Padres fell to the Athletics on Thursday afternoon.
Wall greeted Jose LeClerc with a solo shot to lead off the third inning of this one, increasing the Padres’ early advantage to 2-0. He also bounced out to shortstop, finishing the afternoon 1-for-2. Given the Padres’ overall lack of depth in the outfield, Wall has a chance to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster with a strong showing in spring training — and starting off 5-for-10 (.500) with a pair of homers, four RBI and a stolen base is a great way to put himself in a position to do so.
