Hill returns following a three-game absence due to a lingering back issue that surfaced last Friday. The 30-year-old is in center field and hitting sixth against Minnesota rookie lefty Connor Prielipp on Tuesday night at Target Field.

Sánchez likely would’ve been in the lineup against righty Bryce Elder on Tuesday night had he not suffered a right wrist contusion when he was struck by a ball that was thrown from the stands during Sunday’s game against the Orioles. It was a bizarre incident, and by all accounts a misunderstanding by a fan, but Sánchez seems to have avoided serious injury. He’s day-to-day for now. It’ll be hard-hitting rookie Yohendrick Piñango taking over in right field in his absence.

Hernández gets a look atop Miami’s lineup after homering during Monday’s series opener. The 26-year-old has homered twice in his last seven games and has three round-trippers and five steals through 36 games this season. It’ll be interesting to see if the Marlins continue to give him opportunities near the top of the order. Liam Hicks, who has typically hit first or second recently, is batting sixth with Washington utilizing lefty opener Richard Lovelady ahead of veteran righty Miles Mikolas on Tuesday night.

Ferguson receives his first opportunity with Chicago after being acquired in a trade with the Athletics back on May 7. The 32-year-old will operate in middle relief situations after compiling a serviceable 4.47 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 117/58 K/BB ratio across 110 2/3 innings over 105 appearances in the big leagues since 2024.

Wicks earns a ticket back to the minors after allowing 11 runs on 13 hits across 6 1/3 innings during a pair of starts for the Cubs since bring brought up on May 24. The 26-year-old southpaw makes much more sense in a multi-inning relief role than a traditional starter.

It’s theoretically possible Wantz returns to Tampa Bay on a new minor league pact down the road. The 30-year-old will hit the free agent pool after passing through waivers unclaimed. He allowed five runs over 1 2/3 innings during his lone appearance for the Rays before being designated for assignment over the weekend.

Morris figures to jump into the Athletics’ rotation with Jacob Lopez jettisoned to the minors. The 23-year-old holds a serviceable 4.45 ERA and 49/26 K/BB ratio spanning 60 2/3 innings across 11 starts for Triple-A Las Vegas this season. He’s not a recommended streaming option for fantasy managers.

Barnett returns to the big leagues as a long relief option for the Athletics in the short term with the possibility that he jumps into their rotation against the Astros later this week as a replacement for an injured Luis Severino (shoulder). The 25-year-old has posted a respectable 4.64 ERA and 41/26 K/BB ratio across 42 2/3 innings across nine starts for Triple-A Las Vegas this season.
