Rangers RHP prospect Emiliano Teodo struck out four over two perfect innings in relief on Tuesday for Triple-A Round Rock.
The Rangers have expressed a desire to continue developing Teodo as a starter, but he looks like a potential lights-out relief arm thanks to his triple-digit fastball velocity and hard-biting slider. The flamethrowing 24-year-old is basically a two-pitch prospect at this point, which is why he probably makes more sense in a high-leverage role. He’s a name to watch in deeper mixed leagues on the chance that Texas decides to give him a shot at closing in the near future.

Cardinals optioned RHP Hunter Dobbins to Triple-A Memphis.
It’s unclear if the plan is for Dobbins to return to the rotation at the Triple-A level, or if he’ll be back to make another start with the Cardinals in relatively short order. The 26-year-old hurler holds a 3.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and a 19/7 K/BB ratio over 17 1/3 innings with the Cardinals this season.
'Fire up' Skubal after quick recovery from injury
Returning from a remarkably quick recovery timeline, Tarik Skubal takes the mound once again this weekend. James Schiano shares what fantasy managers should expect from one of the game's true aces.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #58
Cardinals recalled RHP Chris Roycroft from Triple-A Memphis.
The 28-year-old hurler has been hit hard in five appearances with the Cardinals this season, posting a 12.27 ERA, 3.55 WHIP and a 3/5 K/BB ratio across 3 2/3 innings. He’ll function in a middle relief role for skipper Oli Marmol.
  • STL 3rd Baseman #29
Cardinals transferred INF Ramón Urías on the 60-day injured list.
Urías has been shelved since May 5 already due to the elbow issue and after being pulled off of his minor league rehab assignment last week following a setback, it appears as though he’s going to be shelved a while longer. This move frees up a spot on the Cardinals’ 40-man roster.
  • DET Shortstop #38
Tigers designated INF Zack Short for assignment.
The 31-year-old glove-first shortstop slashed a woeful .167/.304/.222 with zero homers, two RBI and a 12/7 K/BB ratio in 46 plate appearances with the Tigers. It’s possible that he could land with another team that’s interested in a quality defender as infield depth.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #40
Tigers selected the contract of RHP Jacob Waguespack from Triple-A Toledo.
The 32-year-old hurler returns to the big leagues for the first time since the 2024 campaign. Waguespack, who was acquired from the Brewers on Wednesday, had posted a 1.66 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 33/15 K/BB ratio over 21 2/3 innings at Triple-A Nashville. Expect him to function in a middle relief role for the Tigers.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #4
Tigers optioned RHP Beau Brieske to Triple-A Toledo.
Brieske has been knocked around in his four appearances with the Tigers this season, posting a 12.46 ERA, 2.31 WHIP and a 4/4 K/BB ratio over 4 1/3 innings. He’ll look to get back on track at the Triple-A level. Jacob Waguespack was promoted from Triple-A in a corresponding move on Friday.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #75
Tigers optioned RHP Brenan Hanifee to Triple-A Toledo.
With Kenley Jansen returning from the injured list on Friday, someone needed to get the boot from the Tigers’ bullpen and Hanifee was the odd man out this time around. The 28-year-old hurler has done a decent job in his time with the Tigers this season, posting a 3.29 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and a 6/4 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #74
Tigers activated RHP Kenley Jansen from the 15-day injured list.
The 38-year-old hurler has been shelved for the past couple of weeks due to a groin issue. He should step right back in as the Tigers’ primary closer with Will Vest shifting back to a setup role.
  • AZ Left Fielder #10
Diamondbacks activated OF Jordan Lawlar off the 60-day injured list.
Ryan Waldschmidt and Tommy Troy are both playing almost every day of late, but we’d guess Lawlar’s lineup plans involve going through Troy in left field. Lawlar had hit .333/.400/.556 in 20 plate appearances before fracturing his wrist in April. One of the better prospects in the sport over the past few years, fantasy managers would be wise to keep an eye on Lawlar. The fact that he qualifies at third base in most leagues doesn’t hurt either.
  • AZ Catcher #66
Diamondbacks designated C Aramis Garcia for assignment.
The 33-year-old will likely return to Triple-A Reno if he clears waivers. Garcia served as an emergency depth piece while James McCann was out. The Diamondbacks appear to think they can get by with Adrian Del Castillo as their backup catcher in the short term.
