González is up to provide some help in the mid-to-late innings. The 23-year-old’s stuff is impressive, his ability to locate said stuff for strikes remains problematic.

As of now, it doesn’t sound like anything serious, but the Rays want to take their time and make sure that he heals properly now so that the issue doesn’t linger into the regular season — especially since Wilson dealt with similar issues throughout the 2025 campaign. The 31-year-old right-hander still has plenty of time to get himself ready before Opening Day.

The Rays are saying that his early exit was purely precautionary and the 22-year-old infielder should be considered day-to-day. Areinamo is coming off of an impressive offseason where he was named the Rookie of the Year in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League. He’s expected to open the season at Double-A Montgomery.

The 31-year-old hurler touched 99 mph with his fastball during the session, throwing 33 pitches over his two innings of work. That’s expected to be his final pitching session in camp with the Dodgers before he leaves to join Team Japan for the World Baseball Classic. It sounds like he may not pitch at all during Cactus League play, and won’t pitch in the Classic, but will be ready to make his first scheduled start during the regular season.

Cubs’ manager Craig Counsell noted that the 22-year-old slugger will be brought along at a slower pace as he gets caught up to the rest of the players in camp. Counsell also told reporters that Ballesteros will get reps at both catcher and first base throughout the spring.

The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise, as the 28-year-old shortstop spent the majority of his time there and excelled during the 2025 campaign. How the rest of the Astros’ starting lineup shakes out remains to be seen.

The 28-year-old right-hander reported feeling significant improvement from the tight left hamstring that had sidelined him during the week. He still has plenty of time to ramp up in time for the start of the regular season.

The Rays are calling it nothing more than a precautionary measure. At this stage of the spring there’s no reason to push anyone who is feeling any sort of issue, so the Rays will back off of him for a couple of days. He still has plenty of time to get right before the start of the regular season.

We’re seeing close to a full lineup from the Giants in this one, with the only regular not here being Heliot Ramos who batted third in Saturday’s contest. It looks like new skipper Tony Vitello is content letting Arraez bat atop the lineup while Matt Chapman’s inclusion in the second spot is mildly intriguing. Just something to keep an eye on. Once again, Roman Anthony is in the leadoff spot, he’s just serving as the designated hitter while Jarren Duran patrols the outfield. The only difference between Sunday’s lineup and what the team had been expected to use on Opening Day is Isiah Kiner-Falefa is in there at second base while Marcelo Mayer is riding the pine. He really will need to earn his spot this spring. It’s the best possible result that the Twins could have gotten from the exam and is very encouraging. The Twins have not yet announced a specific plan for how he’ll work through this, but it sounds like he should be available for Opening Day. Fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief for now.
