Brewers placed RHP Grant Anderson on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to August 24, with right ankle tendinitis.
Anderson heads to the shelf after posting a 2.87 ERA across 62 2/3 innings (57 appearances) this season in his Brewers debut. The 28-year-old figures to miss at least a couple weeks. It’s a significant hit for Milwaukee since he’s been a reliable workhorse out of the bullpen.

Wyatt Langford (quad) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Athletics.
Langford is back at DH and hitting second on Tuesday night in West Sacramento following a three-game absence due to a minor quad strain. The 24-year-old outfielder has struggled to get going at the plate this season, hitting .170 (9-for-53) with one homer, three RBI and one steal through 13 games. It’s only a matter of time before he turns it around. The encouraging development for fantasy managers is that he managed to avoid a trip to the injured list.
Is there larger issue with Crochet's performance?
Eric Samulski discusses Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet's disastrous outing against the Twins and whether fantasy managers should be worried about his performance moving forward.
  • AZ 2nd Baseman #4
Ketel Marte was a late scratch from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Orioles with lower back tightness.
Marte was scratched from Arizona’s lineup just minutes prior to first pitch in Baltimore. There should be an update from the club following the contest. The 32-year-old fantasy stalwart is presumably day-to-day for now. Ildemaro Vargas was inserted into the leadoff spot and will handle second base in his absence.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #37
Padres recalled RHP Alek Jacob from Triple-A El Paso.
Jacob provides San Diego with a fresh bullpen arm for the next couple days until the club needs to bring up Matt Waldron to replace an injured Nick Pivetta (elbow) in the rotation. The 27-year-old righty has made 39 appearances in the big leagues since 2023.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #27
Padres placed RHP Nick Pivetta on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 13, with right elbow inflammation.
No word yet on how much time Pivetta will miss. The 33-year-old veteran has presumably undergone an MRI to determine the severity of the issue and there should be a clearer timetable at some point this week. He was lifted from Sunday’s start against the Rockies after firing three shutout frames. It’ll be Matt Waldron coming up to take his spot in San Diego’s rotation.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #39
Trey Yesavage (shoulder) will make another minor league rehab start on Wednesday for Triple-A Buffalo.
Yesavage is aiming for roughly 65 pitches over four innings in what could potentially be his final rehab outing before returning to Toronto’s rotation for his season debut. The 22-year-old would be in line to take the ball early next week against the Angels after only missing a couple weeks to open the year due to shoulder inflammation. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues based on last year’s impressive debut.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #17
José Berríos (elbow) will make a minor league rehab start for Low-A Dunedin on Thursday.
Berríos will aim for roughly 50 pitches over three innings during his first rehab outings. The 31-year-old lefty will need a couple additional tune-up starts to build up his pitch count and stamina before returning to Toronto’s rotation. He’s been out recovering from a stress fracture in his elbow since spring training.
  • ATH 2nd Baseman #20
Zack Gelof is in right field and batting seventh on Tuesday against the Rangers.
Gelof makes his first career start in right field with Lawrence Butler getting the night off from facing Rangers lefty MacKenzie Gore. The 26-year-old’s contact issues have kept him from reaching his lofty power-speed ceiling, but he’s definitely added some defensive versatility to his toolkit, which might help him stick around in a bench role.
  • SD Right Fielder #23
Fernando Tatis Jr. is in right field and batting second on Tuesday against the Mariners.
Tatis returns to right field after logging a pair of starts at second base over the weekend against the Rockies. The 27-year-old superstar picking up second base eligibility would be a big deal for fantasy managers as he would instantly become the top option at one of the weaker position groups. It’s a storyline to monitor as the year progresses.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #61
Matt Waldron (glute) told reporters he’ll be activated to start on Friday against the Angels.
Waldron would be taking the place of Nick Pivetta (elbow) later this week against the Angels. The 29-year-old righty is currently on the injured list due to a well-publicized glute infection from back in spring training. It’s a strong matchup but he’s not worth the risk as a streaming option in fantasy leagues.
  • BOS 1st Baseman #36
Triston Casas has been diagnosed with an abdominal strain.
It’s going to be awhile before Casas is ready to make his season debut since he’ll ostensibly be shut down until he’s fully healthy before needing a full spring training style build up. The 26-year-old first baseman suffered the injury earlier this month while rehabbing from last year’s knee surgery.
