Twins claimed RHP Zak Kent off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals.

They sent Pablo López (elbow) to the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. Kent has been DFA’d and claimed off waivers four times since the end of the 2025 season. He figures to be a back-end piece for the Twins if he makes the roster.

Pirates recalled INF Jack Brannigan from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Brannigan receives the call to replace an injured Konnor Griffin (finger) on Pittsburgh’s active roster. The unheralded 25-year-old was called up last month, but didn’t end up making an appearance. He’ll occupy a bench role behind Jared Triolo for the next couple weeks.

Mets activated 1B Jorge Polanco from the 60-day injured list.

Polanco returns to New York’s infield picture for the first time since April 14. The 33-year-old veteran will provide some stability at first base after battling an Achilles issue for the last few months which has limited him to just 14 games this season. The hope is that he’ll be able to manage the ongoing issue and avoid surgery until the offseason.

Mets optioned INF Ronny Mauricio to Triple-A Syracuse.

Mauricio winds up losing his roster spot with veteran Jorge Polanco returning from the injured list. The 25-year-old former top prospect has hit .180 (9-for-50) with one homer and two RBI in 17 games at the highest level this season.

Mets designated RHP Alex Carrillo for assignment.

Carrillo loses his spot on New York’s 40-man roster with the club making several roster moves prior to Tuesday’s game against the Royals. The 29-year-old made three relief appearances for the Mets last season.

Michael Harris II is in center field and hitting leadoff on Tuesday against the Pirates.

Harris tore the cover off the ball during a four-game series against the Mets, going 10-for-20 with nine RBI, while notching four straight multi-hit performances during that span. The 25-year-old is atop Atlanta’s lineup for the second consecutive contest and is hitting .319 (38-for-119) with four homers, 21 RBI and two steals over his last 30 games. He’s legitimately one of the hottest hitters in baseball leading into the All-Star break. He’ll face a tough test with Pirates ace Paul Skenes on the mound for Tuesday’s series opener.

Brandon Marsh is on the bench for Tuesday’s series opener against the Reds.

Marsh heads to the bench with lefty Andrew Abbott toeing the rubber for Cincinnati. The 28-year-old corner outfielder has delivered a remarkable first-half, hitting .305/.339/.505 with 15 homers, 46 RBI and eight steals in 342 plate appearances across 86 games. It’ll be speedster Derek Hill getting a shot in right field to open this contest.

Dylan Crews is on the bench for Tuesday’s contest against the Astros.

Crews takes a seat with righty Tatsuya Imai taking the ball for Houston in this one. The 24-year-old former second-overall pick from the 2023 MLB Draft has shown some real signs of life recently, hitting .228 (26-for-114) with five homers, 15 RBI and four steals over his last 30 games.

Braden Montgomery is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Red Sox.

Montgomery takes a seat against his former organization, receiving his first day off since June 19. The 23-year-old top prospect has delivered a couple memorable clutch hits for the upstart White Sox while slashing a respectable .233/.309/.395 with two homers and eight RBI in 97 plate appearances over 23 games since being called up last month. It’ll be Junior Perez getting a turn in right field on Tuesday night.

Josh Jung (knee) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Angels.

Jung remains out of the Rangers lineup for the second straight contest due to right knee soreness. It doesn’t sound like a potential injured list situation, but the fact that he’s not back following a couple days of extra rest is mildly concerning. There should be some clarity on his status in the coming days. It’ll be versatile Ezequiel Duran filling in at the hot corner in his absence.

Jackson Jobe (elbow) will make a minor league rehab start on Tuesday for Low-A Lakeland.

There’s optimism Jobe will be an option for Detroit in some capacity during the second half of the season. His ultimate role will likely depend whether the Tigers are within shouting distance of the playoff race. The 23-year-old former top pitching prospect has been hitting triple digits in bullpen sessions and is at least a couple weeks away from making it back from last year’s Tommy John surgery. He’s a name for fantasy managers to watch closely coming out of the All-Star break.
