Gio Urshela went 1-for-3 with an RBI and drew a pair of walks on Sunday as Colombia fell to Cuba in the World Baseball Classic.

Urshela worked a walk to open the sixth inning and came around to score on an RBI double off the bat of Gustavo Campero. He then drove in a run of his own with an RBI single in the seventh inning that trimmed Cuba’s lead to 7-3. The 34-year-old infielder needs a strong showing this spring if he’s going to earn a bench spot on the Twins’ Opening Day roster.

Sonny Gray allowed two runs over six innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Monday.

Gray carried a shutout into the fifth inning before coughing up a solo homer to rookie Charles McAdoo. He surrendered an additional run in the ensuing frame, but managed to strand a couple baserunners to avoid further damage. He finished with four strikeouts and only issued one walk. He’ll square off against the Pirates to wrap up a two-start week on Saturday.

Susac is likely to miss the remainder of the season after an MRI revealed a left kneecap fracture that he suffered over the weekend on a foul ball. The 25-year-old backstop was outstanding defensively this season and hit .243/.289/.375 with three homers and two steals in 161 plate appearances over 53 games. He’ll be part of San Francisco’s catching equation for the next few years.

The Dodgers could certainly use Smith back since they’re rolling with Ben Rortvedt and Hunter Feduccia as their catching tandem with Dalton Rushing (elbow) on the injured list. The 31-year-old franchise backstop resumed baseball activities in late July and figures to make it back to Los Angeles by the end of August. He’s going to need a minor league rehab assignment given how much time he’s missed.
