White Sox optioned RHPs Wikelman González and David Sandlin and INF Tanner Murray to Triple-A Charlotte.

González will open the season in the minors after posting a strong 2.66 ERA and 25/12 K/BB ratio across 20 1/3 innings over 16 relief appearances for the White Sox last year. Sandlin was the key piece Chicago acquired for taking on the remainder of Jordan Hicks’ albatross contract from the Red Sox last month.

This could be the end of the comeback story for Manoah. The 28-year-old was sent to Triple-A in May after posting a 9.82 ERA in 7 1/3 innings for the Angels. Manoah then posted a 16.14 ERA in 30 2/3 innings across 10 starts at Triple-A. Injuries have contributed to the sharp and surprising fall for the former top prospect who earned AL Cy Young votes back in 2022.
