Mets optioned RHP Christian Scott to Triple-A Syracuse.
Scott missed all of last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, so the Mets are going to be cautious with his workload in 2026. Before his surgery, Scott enjoyed a strong season at Triple-A, so he is certainly on the radar to get innings for the Mets this season.

Mets activated RHP Kodai Senga from the 15-day injured list.
Gomez becoming trustworthy closer for Twins
Eric Samulski discusses Twins closer Yoendrys Gomez's recent performances on the mound, in which he's had two saves in his last three appearances and is turning out to be a reliable option in Minnesota's rotation.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #91
Mets optioned RHP Jonathan Pintaro to Triple-A Syracuse.
Pintaro was only up for one day. The 28-year-old will head back to Triple-A with Kodai Senga activated to start Tuesday’s game against the Reds in Cincinnati.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #82
White Sox LHP prospect Hagen Smith has been diagnosed with a left shoulder impingement.
The plan is for Smith to not throw for multiple weeks, and then to spend two more weeks ramping up before returning to game action. The 22-year-old will be out at least a month, but obviously something involving the shoulder with a pitcher could lead to a lengthier absence if there’s even a hint of a setback.
  • AZ 1st Baseman #41
The Diamondbacks sent Carlos Santana to the Arizona Complex League to begin a rehab assignment.
Santana, 40, will begin his rehab assignment at the lowest level. The veteran infielder will likely need a couple of weeks of games in the minors before being an option near the end of June for the Diamondbacks.
  • BOS Catcher #30
Mickey Gasper (groin) is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Red Sox.
Gasper has been dealing with tightness in his groin, and the 30-year-old will get another day off after missing Sunday’s game against the Rangers. Masataka Yoshida will hit leadoff as the designated hitter with Gasper beginning Tuesday’s tilt on the bench.
  • NYM Shortstop #2
Chelsea Janes of SNY reports that the Mets will designate Vidal Bruján for assignment.
Bruján will hit the waiver wire, assumedly to make room on the roster for the recently-claimed Zack Short. Brujan could see interest from other teams interested in a player who can play multiple positions and provide some speed off the bench.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #71
Marlins optioned RHP Will Kempner to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Kempner has been excellent since being recalled from Triple-A at the end of May and hasn’t allowed an earned run. He will assuredly be back before the summer ends, but Miami needs a multi-inning option, so Dax Fulton takes Kempner’s place on the roster.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #90
Marlins recalled LHP Dax Fulton from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Fulton will provide a multi-inning arm option for the Miami pitching staff in his second stint with the club. Will Kempner was sent to Triple-A to make room.
  • AZ Right Fielder #17
Max Kepler (suspension) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
Kepler was suspended for 80 games in January, but now can begin play in Triple-A. The Diamondbacks have played 73 games thus far, so Kepler could be an option against right-handed pitching at some point next week.
  • ATL Left Fielder #50
Braves selected the contract of OF Brewer Hicklen from Triple-A Gwinnett and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Hicklen could have opted out of his deal with Atlanta, but the 30-year-old is now on the 40-man roster. He’s having an impressive season in the International League, as he’s hit 316/.381/.519 in Gwinnett with 11 homers and 21 stolen bases. He could be a bench option for the Braves by the end of 2026.
