Adolis García finished 4-for-4 with a homer in the Phillies’ 2-0 shutout of the Twins on Tuesday.
The rest of the Phillies went 3-for-26 today, but Garcia crushed it, knocking in both of the game’s runs. All four of his balls in play were hit at least 102.5 mph, and he topped out at 112.4 mph on his final single. García came into the day 5-for-26 with one extra-base hit this spring, so that’s not very notable. However, he’s now up to 37 plate appearances and has struck out just twice. That’s a 2/6 K/BB for a guy who came in at 135/28 for the Rangers last year. He was at 29/2 in 94 plate appearances over the previous two springs.

Kevin McGonigle is at shortstop and batting second on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.
The McGonigle era has gotten off to a phenomenal start with Detroit’s top prospect hitting .357 (5-for-14) with two doubles and four RBI through four games. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the 21-year-old hitting machine’s early-season performance has been his plate discipline, as he’s struck out just three times while also drawing three walks. He’s batting second for the first time on Tuesday night at Chase Field after hitting sixth at the outset of the year.
Messick's start vs. LAD puts him on fantasy radars
After Parker Messick spun six scoreless innings against the Dodgers' ferocious lineup, Eric Samulski says fantasy managers should be "buying into" the Guardians starting pitcher.
  • LAD Shortstop #76
Alex Freeland is at second base and batting ninth on Tuesday against the Guardians.
Freeland makes just his second start of the season with Miguel Rojas getting the night off. The 24-year-old infielder is serving as Los Angeles’ de-facto utility specialist while Tommy Edman (ankle) continues recovering from offseason surgery.
  • AZ 3rd Baseman #28
Nolan Arenado is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Tigers.
Arenado takes a seat for the first time this season following four consecutive starts with prospect Jose Fernandez set to make his major-league debut at Chase Field. The 34-year-old defensive wizard has gotten off to a frigid 2-for-16 start in his Diamondbacks debut.
  • SEA Shortstop #3
J.P. Crawford (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Tacoma.
Crawford is progressing towards a quick return to Seattle’s lineup after opening the season on the shelf with shoulder inflammation. He’ll likely require a handful of rehab contests to get back up to speed but should be ready to make his season debut later this week.
  • HOU Center Fielder #16
Zach Cole has been diagnosed with a broken toe on his right foot after being hit by a pitch over the weekend at Triple-A Sugar Land.
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters it’s going to take a little while for Cole to get back after he suffered a fractured toe over the weekend while playing for Triple-A Sugar Land. His absence is a hit to Houston’s outfield depth when injuries inevitable strike at the highest level.
  • SD Left Fielder #5
Ramón Laureano is on the bench for Tuesday’s game against the Giants.
Laureano takes a seat after making four consecutive starts in left field to open the season. The 31-year-old is off to a really strong start at the dish, hitting .357 (5-for-14) with one homer and one steal in four contests. It’ll be Nick Castellanos heading out to cover left field and face Giants ace Logan Webb.
  • SF Shortstop #2
Willy Adames is back in the leadoff spot for Tuesday’s game against the Padres.
Adames gets another shot atop San Francisco’s lineup after going 1-for-4 on Monday as the Giants picked up their first win of the season. It’ll be the fourth time he’s led off in his entire nine-year career. No other changes for Giants rookie skipper Tony Vitello as Luis Arraez sticks in the cleanup spot for the second straight contest.
  • NYM 2nd Baseman #11
Jorge Polanco (Achilles) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Cardinals.
Polanco will get some extra rest in this one while playing through a relatively minor Achilles issue that flared up last weekend. The 32-year-old veteran should be considered day-to-day for now. He’s likely to be limited to DH for the immediate future. It’ll be Mark Vientos taking over at DH with Jared Young covering first base.
  • NYM Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cardinals.
Robert is back patrolling center field and batting cleanup after sitting out Monday’s series opener for maintenance purposes. The 28-year-old offseason acquisition has gotten off to a phenomenal start in his Mets debut, hitting .455 (5-for-11) with one homer and five RBI through three games.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Cal Raleigh is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Yankees.
Raleigh is back in Seattle’s lineup after coming off the bench to deliver a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning during Monday’s series opener. The hope for fantasy managers is that the 29-year-old’s heroics help jump-start his potent bat following an icy-cold stretch at the outset of the regular season.
