Phillies reassigned INF/OF Felix Reyes and OF Dante Nori to minor league camp.
Nori is fresh off a strong World Baseball Classic campaign, where he went 8-for-20 (.400) with two home runs, six RBI, and two steals. The 2024 first-round pick will likely begin the season at Double-A and could push for MLB at-bats in 2027. Reyes could also head to Double-A, but he did get six games at Triple-A last season after slashing .335/.365/.572 with 15 home runs and 13 steals in 95 Double-A games. Maybe the Phillies have seen enough of him at that level.

Lars Nootbaar, on the 60-day IL following surgery on both heels, is slated to begin a rehab assignment during the week beginning May 10.
The Cardinals will probably have Nootbaar spend the full 20 days in the minors or at least something very close to it. Once back, he’ll probably serve as the team’s left fielder. Nathan Church could potentially slide to center if he’s still outplaying Victor Scott II at that point.
Rutschman putting up 'star caliber' statistics
James Schiano breaks down Adley Rutschman's performance in his six games since returning for the Orioles from the IL, in which he has put up an impressive performance with four home runs and 14 RBIs.
  • TB 1st Baseman #8
Jonathan Aranda went 2-for-4 and knocked in two runs Saturday as the Rays defeated the Giants 5-1.
Aranda’s .228/.336/.447 line isn’t anything special, but he’s tied for fifth in the majors with 27 RBI. He’d surely have a higher slash line if he weren’t playing against left-handers, but those extra at-bats, even if they’re not particularly good ones, are worth the tradeoff.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #22
Griffin Jax pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings in his second start Saturday against the Giants.
It looks like this is going to be a permanent switch for Jax, leaving him with no fantasy value in the short term while he gets stretched out. Still, the talent is there for him to perhaps reemerge as a contributor once he’s ready to throw six innings at a time. He’s thrown five scoreless innings in his two starts thus far.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #65
Landen Roupp was lifted after allowing four runs in 4 1/3 innings Saturday against the Rays.
Roupp had one of the unluckiest starts of the year, giving up eight hits despite allowing only two hard-hit balls. He struck out six and walked two. The loss leaves him 5-2 with a 3.18 ERA through seven starts. He should still be fine to use against the Pirates next weekend.
  • SF Shortstop #2
Willy Adames went 0-for-4 against the Rays on Saturday, dropping his average to .194.
Adames has six RBI in 32 games. He’s sporting a 42/6 K/BB, and he’s been caught stealing both times he’s gone. Adames also dug himself quite a hole last year and climbed his way out of it; he hit .193 with five homers in his first 65 games and .248 with 25 homers in his final 95 games. Hopefully, he doesn’t wait that long to get going this time.
  • DET 2nd Baseman #25
Gleyber Torres left Saturday’s game because of left side tightness.
It’s not great timing for Torres to get hurt, as the Tigers already have Zach McKinstry and Javier Báez on the IL. McKinstry, though, is almost ready to return. The Tigers can still mix and match Hao-Yu Lee and Jace Jung at second.
  • ATL Right Fielder #13
Ronald Acuña Jr. left Saturday’s game in the second inning with an apparent left hamstring injury.
The Braves are calling it left hamstring tightness, though that doesn’t mean much of anything. Acuña grabbed his hamstring coming out of the box after hitting a groundball. He continued down to first, and it didn’t appear to be a particularly severe injury. Best-case scenario, it might have even been just a cramp. Still, the better bet is that he’s going to miss some time. That would likely mean more shortstop starts for Jorge Mateo, with Mauricio Dubón playing right field.
  • SEA 2nd Baseman #7
Mariners placed INF Will Wilson on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to Apr. 30, with a fractured left thumb.
Wilson was likely to head back to Triple-A when Brendan Donovan is activated, but now he’ll get a little extra service time. He was 1-for-6 in two games since being called up on Apr. 20, though that one hit was a homer.
  • SEA Catcher #5
Mariners recalled C Jhonny Pereda from Triple-A Tacoma.
Pereda will help out behind the plate with Cal Raleigh apparently injured. The 30-year-old was hitting .333/.418/.436 in 92 plate appearances for Tacoma.
  • TOR Shortstop #78
2023 first-round pick Arjun Nimmala is being promoted to Double-A by the Blue Jays.
The 20-year-old Nimmala returned to High-A Vancouver to begin this year, but he wasn’t left there long. He hit .241/.360/.382 with four homers and two steals in 22 games. Nimmala probably won’t be ready before 2028, but he could be the Jays’ shortstop of the future.
