Mets optioned RHP Austin Warren to Triple-A Syracuse; Reassigned RHPs Kevin Herget and Robert Stock to minor league camp.
Warren had a strong showing during Grapefruit League action, compiling a 1.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 5/2 K/BB ratio across five innings in his five appearances. He’ll almost assuredly get a chance to work out of the Mets’ bullpen at some point during the 2026 season.

Blue Jays OF Jesús Sánchez is not starting Friday’s opener against RHP Luis Severino.
It never seemed like Sánchez had fully carved out a role with the Jays after coming over in a mid-February deal for Joey Loperfido. Nathan Lukes is starting in left field and batting second for Toronto against a right-hander. Sánchez probably doesn’t need to be dropped in deeper leagues ASAP, but those in 12-team leagues can probably move on while we see how the playing time shakes out.
Misiorowski could be 'really, really special'
James Schiano examines Brewers' starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski's impressive debut and why he may be in line for a monster season for fantasy managers.
  • TOR 3rd Baseman #7
Blue Jays 3B Kazuma Okamoto is batting seventh in Toronto’s Opening Day lineup against the Athletics on Friday.
The Jays have a deep enough lineup that this shouldn’t mess with his run and RBI opportunities too much, but fantasy managers probably were hoping he’d hit higher than this. The full lineup against RHP Luis Severino is: DH George Springer, LF Nathan Lukes, 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr., RF Addison Barger, C Alejandro Kirk, CF Daulton Varsho, Okamoto, 2B Ernie Clement, and SS Andrés Giménez.
  • ATH 1st Baseman #16
Athletics 1B Nick Kurtz is batting leadoff against the Blue Jays on Opening Day.
He hit first in 18 games last year, so it’s not a total surprise, but we hope it doesn’t cut into his RBI totals too much. The rest of the Athletics lineup against RHP Kevin Gausman is pretty much as expected: Kurtz, C Shea Langeliers, LF Tyler Soderstrom, DH Brent Rooker, SS Jacob Wilson, RF Lawrence Butler, 3B Max Muncy, 2B Jeff McNeil, and CF Denzel Clarke.
  • NYM 3rd Baseman #2
Mets outrighted INF/OF Vidal Bruján to Triple-A Syracuse.
Bruján lost his bid for a bench spot in Spring Training and cleared waivers today. If Bruján accepts his assignment to Triple-A, he’s probably first in line for a bench spot on the Mets if injuries strike.
  • NYM Catcher #77
Mets outrighted C Ben Rortvedt to Triple-A Syracuse.
Assuming he sticks with the team, Rortvedt will be functional catcher depth for the Mets after going unclaimed on waivers.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #78
White Sox claimed LHP Bryan Hudson off waivers from the Mets.
He’s back. Hudson finished the 2025 season with four appearances for the White Sox in which he allowed three runs in 4.2 IP. The left-hander has a career 2.83 ERA on the back of his magnificent 2024 season. The White Sox will try to coax another year like that out of him in 2026.
  • COL Left Fielder #3
Rockies 2B Willi Castro is batting third for the Rockies in Friday’s Opening Day game against the Marlins.
If Castro can stick this high in the order all season, it will benefit his run and RBI totals and give him some decent traction in deeper fantasy leagues. The full Rockies lineup against RHP Sandy Alcantara is: LF Jake McCarthy, C Hunter Goodman, Castro, SS Ezequiel Tovar, 1B TJ Rumfield, RF Jordan Beck, CF Brenton Doyle, DH Edouard Julien, and 3B Kyle Karros.
  • MIA Center Fielder #87
Marlins OF Jakob Marsee is batting third on Friday in Miami’s Opening Day lineup against the Rockies.
Apparently the Marlins preferred Austin Slater in the leadoff spot against Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland. The (righty-heavy) lineup against Freeland is: Slater, C Agustín Ramírez, Marsee, SS Otto Lopez, 1B Christopher Morel, DH Connor Norby, LF Heriberto Hernández, 2B Xavier Edwards, and 3B Javier Sanoja.
  • HOU Catcher #18
Astros outrighted C César Salazar to Triple-A Sugar Land.
Salazar cleared waivers. The 30-year-old will be a depth piece for the Astros in 2026 assuming he reports to Sugar Land. Christian Vázquez, who signed on just a few weeks ago, won the Astros’ backup catcher job.
  • COL Catcher #37
Rockies recalled C Braxton Fulford from Triple-A Albuquerque.
He’ll have a bench role while Mickey Moniak is out. Perhaps Hunter Goodman will grab some of Moniak’s DH time and let Fulford catch a game here or there, but he’s not someone who needs to be on the fantasy radar for the time being.
