Juan Soto told reporters that he’s day-to-day with a “mild” strained right calf.
Soto is not in the lineup for Saturday’s bout against the Giants with the strain. The 27-year-old left Friday’s game with tightness, and the good news is it doesn’t appear that the slugger will need a trip to the injured list. He still likely will miss a couple of games at least, and Jared Young will get the start in left field in Soto’s absence.

Marlins recalled 1B/3B Deyvison De Los Santos from Triple-A Jacksonville.
We’ll see if De Los Santos can crack the Marlins lineup in his second stint with the club in the last couple weeks. Until then, he’s a speculative pickup at best and probably is someone fantasy managers should monitor rather than rush to the waiver wire for.
'No one can touch' Miller right now
James Schiano outlines just how impressive Mason Miller has been for the Padres.
  • MIA Left Fielder #18
Marlins placed OF Griffin Conine on the 10-day injured list with a torn hamstring.
Conine was off to a nice start at the head of a platoon in left field for the Marlins, but will likely miss significant time with this and surgery is likely for the 28-year-old left fielder. Heriberto Hernández has been the starter against lefties and figures to get some of Conine’s time, but it may not be quite as open-and-shut as that with Deyvison De Los Santos up from Triple-A Jacksonville and Kyle Stowers due back soon.
  • BAL Left Fielder #17
Colton Cowser is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Giants.
Cowser has now played in just three of the last six games for the Orioles as Tyler O’Neill and Dylan Beavers are both pushing for playing time. Cowser is hitting just .182/.269/.227 with no homers and steals through his first 27 plate appearances and doesn’t necessarily have the look of someone who needs to be rostered in 12-team leagues.
  • TB Center Fielder #14
Chandler Simpson is batting leadoff for the Rays against the Yankees on Friday.
It’s his first appearance in the leadoff spot all season, and he’s typically hit fifth or lower in the lineup. It would be great news for Simpson’s fantasy value if this continued. The speedester is off to a .391/.429/.435 start in his first 49 plate appearances and has five steals over that timespan.
  • NYM 3rd Baseman #27
Mark Vientos is not in New York’s starting lineup on Friday against the Athletics.
After starting the last seven games in a row, this appears to just be a routine day off for Vientos, who is hitless in his last three appearances. Ronny Mauricio is starting at third base for the Mets and batting seventh.
  • NYM 2nd Baseman #11
Jorge Polanco (Achilles) is not in the lineup for New York’s Friday game against the Athletics.
It’s his second straight missed game and he has DHed the last four appearances he’s been available. Polanco told reporters that he is feeling better and doesn’t believe he’ll need an IL stint. With Carlos Mendoza acknowledging an IL trip may be necessary for Polanco, it’d be wise to not count on him this weekend if you can make other plans in your lineup.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #81
Yankees recalled RHP Luis Gil from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
He’ll get the start against the Rays on Friday. Gil isn’t a must-trust in his first start of the season, but he’s a reasonable streaming option in deeper leagues against a Tampa Bay lineup that has scored just 4.58 runs per game in its first 12 outings.
  • MIN 3rd Baseman #23
Royce Lewis is out of the lineup for Friday’s game against the Angels.
Lewis looked like he was in some discomfort before a late infield single against the Tigers on Thursday, so we’re not completely surprised to see him get the day off. Tristan Gray is handling the duties at third base for the Twins today. Lewis is off to a .222/.378/.444 start with two homers in his first 45 plate appearances of 2026.
  • DET Right Fielder #46
Tigers recalled Wenceel Pérez from Triple-A Toledo.
Pérez is starting in right field in his first game back in the big leagues this year, but figures to be a platoon option for the Tigers and shouldn’t be pursued in shallow leagues. He was off to a .250/.353/.455 start for the Mud Hens, with two homers in 51 plate appearances.
  • DET Center Fielder #22
Tigers placed OF Parker Meadows on the 10-day injured list with a left radius fracture and a concussion.
Detroit Free-Press’ Evan Petzoid reports Meadows has no timetable for his return and “will miss significant time.” Javier Báez is taking over in center field on Friday. Meadows had gotten off to a .250/.308/.333 start with three stolen bases. He’s not a must-hold in shallow leagues with limited injured list spots.
